Coors Field

I was out in Denver for a wedding when I captured this image of Coors Field. I love shooting architecture and I love baseball. Unfortunately the Rockies were out of town so I couldn't fit a game in while I was there.
So, I did get up early one morning to walk around downtown Denver and took a nice stroll down to the stadium. I hope you enjoy this.

The saga of Waverley Park — Melbourne's car-dependent suburban AFL stadium with a planned seated capacity of over 150,000 (not a typo!)

A really good run down by @philip on the plans by the AFL (and its predecessor, the VFL) to build the world's largest stadium in outer-suburban Melbourne.

Unfortunately, a planned railway line past the stadium to Rowville was never built. That meant a massive 25,000-spot car park as the only real means to get there.

While most of it has been demolished and redeveloped for housing, the oval itself still used by Hawthorn Football Club as a training and administration centre.

The commonality of this thinking, that a “…would rewrite the ‘must-see’ list for every visitor…”, with the Goverment’s proposed is glaringly obvious.

A video circulating on social media shows hundreds of Palestinian men, stripped to their underwear, held captive by Israeli soldiers in a stadium in Gaza.

It shows a naked man in a wheelchair in the stands, at least two children standing with their arms raised alongside the other men and, towards the end of the clip, an Israeli soldier holding a Palestinian baby wrapped in a blanket.

Israeli tanks are seen bulldozing one area of the stadium.

@iuculano Thanks Joe, I have a dozen tabs open, as I read Halifax Municipality pages and the amount of meetings, raises, bad decisions and the proposed Tax increase, while furiously typing.
I can't go for groceries, without breaking down in tears. All the homeless that upset police and council have been moved 4 minutes from my door, between my driveway and my weekly grocery pickup. COUNCILLORS aren't crying,, OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND, next Agenda Item talk, Not helping

Today the UK government has signed a Hillsborough Charter, promising that no family will suffer the same injustices as those involved in the 1989 disaster.

For the 20th anniversary in 2009, Sue McGregor brought together a group of people who were there. It's a remarkable conversation.

I'm not interested in .
I never was. I learned more about a baseball game, studying French, than any other time in my life. We learned TV positions & plays in French. I didn't know them in English.

I've never seen an Auto race. Except when changing channels, unless you count that OJ Simpson slow-speed race.
I didn't know who he was before that.

"Formula 1" just showed scores?
What kind of race?
DOH! Are those cars?
Who knew?
