Highs in February here ranged between 33°F (0.6°C) and 78°F (25.6°C). The drop from 74°F to 36°F between the 27th and 28th was mind-boggling. Having to use both the A/C and heater within a 24 hour period is something else.
Original pattern is from the book 'Cross-Stitch to Calm' by Leah Lintz , but I wasn't feeling the pastel colours so converted to Harley Q colours instead.
It's on Aida Count 14 (with 'magic' guidelines) so is going slowly. Am used to 11 count - but wanted something with a smaller footprint.
I know in #Knitting when you decide '"This project isn't working I'm going to undo it and start again and/or reuse this yarn for something else" it's commonly know as #Frogging - but is there a term for the same concept, but #Sewing?
I have two cosplays which I'll most likely never, ever, wear again but involved lots of (potentially) re-uasable fabric.
Also any tips on how to deal with the emotions of needing to undo all you're previous hard work ? :C
Let's look back 🔭
Some weeks and months before we sat off on this journey - this new stage of our lives - we had a lot of preparation to do.
Besides selling and giving away all our belongings, we built our own bikes 🚲🚲 Special thanks to Mathias - mavis-bikes - for the beautiful frames 🫶
Marc welded in our one-room flat gorgeous racks and bottlecages. Fiona prototyped and sewed bags, sleeping bag inlays, buffs, and other useful stuff...
Good News! Our #repairable#3dprinted GLoA #ereader case, now support the #kindle 11th and 10th gen E-Readers. Both E-Reader cases are available now in Basic Cloth Premium Leather, and as DIY Sewing Kits at 16bitsrore.com.
Whoop!
Newbies welcome! 🥰 @fiberarts @handarbeiten
Beanie with short row crochet technique in progress - really enjoying learning this and discovering how the colors show up in the pattern!
That being said, I'm going to get even softer yarn next time. It's amazing how stiff crochet can feel, even with the ribs here softening it a bit.
Pattern is Spicy Beanie by Adriana Mihalca - very clearly written and with annotated photos for each step, highly recommended.
@bananamangodog I think I've found the answer - branded phosphorescent pigment threads are non toxic to touch. ]
So - have just learned about Glow In The Dark Embroidery thread.
Someone please explain to me what *precisely* makes it work because I suspect micro levels of toxicity and so far my internet sleuthing cannot uncover any definitive answer..
Thank you all.

Some video of the circular sock knitting machine in action! Can’t believe we built this out of mostly 3D-printed parts. It’s loud but works pretty well I’d say! #3DPrinting#Maker#Knitting#Crafting
We got it working!!! It was tears and struggle to adjust it all but I officially printed a working circular sock knitting machine. #3DPrinting#Knitting#Maker#Crafting
Potted plant coaster project continues - all the leaves are done, now time to block!
I improvised a blocking board out of some leftover foam board and cement nails - what do y'all think?

One trick to TerraTech is that the bigger wheels are better when it comes to speed and traction, but you often want them on the outside of the tech so they are prone to damage. They are also the most expensive so it hurts to lose them.
A graphical web based text only node combining #Crafting#Game, that is so transparently simple and suprisingly delightful that you may never close the tab again.
"The enjoyment this Atheist got from finding Jesus; indescribable"
"That 1st time the words "First Discovery" appearred, I was done for the day, hold my calls, clear the calendar"
"I left the tab open on 2nd monitor all day, I'd walk by have a thought try it & laugh"
I told myself I'll try a different scheme for a yearlong project this year but the weather here last month decided to go absolutely wild with the range. So I bowed to it and started a high temperature table runner (last year's blanket was fun but was so yarn intensive lol).
Highs in January here ranged between 0°F (-17.8°C) and 63°F (17.2°C). 🤯
