As spares we have tubes, rimtape, breakpads, derailleur cogs, chain, bb bearings, some screws and o-rings 🪛
most used tools are the scissors ✂️, victorinox leatherman and the allen keys. followed by the drylube, patches, pump and the sewingkit 🧷
the usb powered soldering iron is a leftover from the solarpanel repairs in italy...

Wow, look at these beautiful bikes! 🥰Even though the bike assembling is now almost 2 years ago, we are still so in love with them, like we had finished them 2 days ago 😍

Let's highlight some special gear and parts:
First, our frames were built by mawis-bikes in Germany - like you already know from the previous post!👍
Second, we went with a 1x11 drivetrain from Garbaruk, and we are really impressed with the quality 👌 To keep our smartphones charged while riding, we chose the 'Son' dynamo hub and 'Sinewave Cycles' charger. Very stable an reliable 💪 And to give a bit of comfort to our buts we selected the 'Infinity Seat' saddles 🫶

Some weeks and months before we sat off on this journey - this new stage of our lives - we had a lot of preparation to do.
Besides selling and giving away all our belongings, we built our own bikes 🚲🚲 Special thanks to Mathias - mavis-bikes - for the beautiful frames 🫶
Marc welded in our one-room flat gorgeous racks and bottlecages. Fiona prototyped and sewed bags, sleeping bag inlays, buffs, and other useful stuff...

Natenom was killed by a car driver near 30th Jan, on the very road he had been lobbying to make safer for non-motorists, to no avail.

The same motif as before: a wintery lake in the sunlight. Reeds can be seen in the foreground, followed by a very, very large and long expanse of water. The banks are lined with trees. Buildings can be seen on the horizon. Now the buildings are easier to recognise. There is a tower block and several church steeples.

It's the 2nd of October 2023, and today I went for a fantastic in the most beautiful ❤️

In front of me is a river (I am photographing from a bridge). The bank is green. The sun is shining and it just looks peaceful and beautiful.

I took for myself 2 hours yesterday evening and went for a bike ride in the meadows of river Sava.
This year I was too late, most of the flowers blossomed. The silence and the smell of cut grass was as pleasant as always.

On my yesterday, this pair was hanging out on the bridge, just chillin' and handing out dog treats, some water, and sticks.

A side view of the creatures situated on the Manayunk Bridge, a pedestrian/bicycle trail crossing over the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. On the left is what appears to be a plaster or concrete statue of a tyrannosaurus rex, painted green with blue eyes and very white teeth. It is wearing a lovely flowered prairie bonnet, with a sort of a frilled cape over its shoulders. Behind it is a plush white goat, towering over the T Rex, its head cocked at a quizzical angle. (I'm colorblind – my kid asked "Why is its nose colored red with the blood of its enemies?")
A small wooden crate, maybe two feet long by one foot wide, maybe 10 inches tall. Inside the crate are sticks from trees. On the front of the crate is written "Dog Stick Library" and "Manayunk Bridge YB 1918"
