Finished a second granny square today. New one's on the left, previous one on the right, just to show how different they look just from reversing the row color order. More rainbow variations to come!
Used my red yarn to make this blobcat prototype before trying with my yellow, I'm really new to crochet this is only my second finished project and first time using a flat circle which came out really nice.
This is basically a flat circle with walls which I just sort of randomly reduced the stitching when it felt right. I mostly guessed with the ears by following a guide for making and attaching doll arms, then doing thar way shorter and putting it on the head.
The mouth was really hard, I didn't realise for Surface Crochet you need access to the underside and I'd already sealed the top and didn't want to re-open it so I sowed some thread in a general shape it came out OK.
I also didn't put enough stuffing inside so it doesn't feel as good to squish as it could, I'll add way more next time.
Overall, very enjoyable took me about a week to learn how to do the circle and then three to four days of intense crocheting once I got the hang of that.
I'd recommend crochet over #linux permissions or #Windows Defender any day.
Today's MeMade garments are a hat (crocheted), a skirt and bandanna (sewn), and a waistcoat and socks (knitted).
Here's a photo from last year of our cat putting her seal of approval (i.e. hair) on my hand-knitted sock collection. #MeMadeMay#knitting#socks#cat#sewing#crochet
I'm really into crocheting recently, made a few fellas and have some more things in mind.
Randomly spawning little toys is a part of my new personality I guess u . u
I celebrated today's summer-ish weather by hanging out on my porch all afternoon making this. I have no idea what this granny square will eventually become - that depends partly on how many more squares I can squeeze out of this stash of odds and ends of cotton yarn I'm using up. I'm less into the destination and more into the relaxing journey with this project TBH. And the rainbows. There will be variations on the rainbows, that I've already decided. 🌈
I finished this shawl/scarf this afternoon. Made with Cotton Kings Sultan Shadow, it's nice and lightweight. It's unfortunate that I will probably have to wait til the Autumn to actually use it in earnest!
My latest #crochet project is this chick and egg... Not perfect but still cute and I'm happy with it. The hen will be next but it may be a while before I tackle it. @crochet#chick#egg#crocheting
Did you know there is a Crochet Museum? It's very cute.
"Among the eclectic collection you’ll find just about every conceivable type of item, represented in crochet form. There are animals like poodles, bears, and unicorns. There are also more abstract designs, like smiley faces and lumpy little creations that are less identifiable."
Crocheted 20 flowers. 6 today.
If I manage to sew them together in time I want to gift this little puff flower purse to Wheein.
Will she like it? Idk.
Is my brain rotten because I wanna give a singer I appreciate a gift she might even throw away? Maybe... #crochet#handmade#kpop
Hot off the hook last night! I still have a lot of yarn to use up, and I wanted to make a cardigan to test a pattern I wrote up for it a while ago, so I know how much to buy if I want to make any in the future.
I'm not a big fan of most of the colours in this, so it will likely just be one for wearing round the house in the chillier months, but it's a good proof of concept and helped me work out the weight of the finished piece!
@fibrearts@crochet As promised, here are some photos of my current WIP. I’m working on a crocheted top called Spiderdream. It’s an asymmetrical construction so I’ve done one sleeve and shoulder and am working across the body to the second shoulder. The yarn is from a 2023 advent calendar. #crochet#fibrearts#nightshift#garmentconstruction
#crochetuk#crochetprojects2024 Thanks to the crochet groups I'm in on Facebook I've decided on a year long crochet project 🙈 a temperature blanket! I just need to decide on how wide I should make it & which time of day to take the temperature from. Skull squares are for a scarf for my eldest, which I think will also be a 2024 project because I'm not quick enough to finish it in 2023.
