I wanted to share something happy today and this seems to fit the bill.
All dogs are special to their owners who love them, who have seen into their hearts. So when I look at your lovely dog in a photograph I only see a small part of this special animal. It's a bit like an iceberg. So much is hidden beneath the surface.
This is my dog, Joni.When I look at her I see the heart shining through in her eyes. I see a smile.

Seeing how unhappy #ApriCat has been, confined to my tiny apartment, longing for the outside, and spending most of the day alone (because I'm working), has made me rethink about how we approach pet ownership. Sometimes, animals are meant to wander, even if it means that their lives are shorter as a result.

This was my gal on day 5 of TPLO (**tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) **post-op. I was an unequivocal emotional wreck & she was high as a kite.
Trying to get all her scheduled pain meds (too many to mention) into a non-cooperative, traumatized clenched #dogs mouth (with a sprained thumb) was like trying to dispense meds with a Sissy Hankshaw thumb.
As the summer is winding down there are still some mornings that look like this. Joni was quite young in this photograph, but the intensity never wanes.
Make it as good a day as you can!
We almost lost Koda last week due to acute pancreatitis.
He's back home since Sunday and as active as always!
But he's taking a lot of medications, and he has to soon remove his spleen (w/ a golf ball sized tumour), and with his age the surgery is very risky, but needed 😢.
He's turning 15 this September.

Domestic bliss at #LikaLodge : It’s #raining. I made a bed for the #Dog. #Bike is here too, covered a bit. #Fireplace & #tea. This morning I had breakfast at sunrise, under #Lipa / #Linden . Earlier I made a room-divider from a #patchwork curtain I got at #DeGrowth conference last year. Memories & fantasies… plus enjoying the moment!
