Wählen ab 16: Chance oder Gefahr für die #Demokratie?
Erstmals dürfen in Deutschland auch Jugendliche ab 16 Jahren ihre Stimme bei der #Europawahl abgegeben. Der Absenkung des Wahlalters ist eine langjährige Debatte über die Vor- und Nachteile vorausgegangen.
Ist Wählen ab 16 sinnvoll? Und wie könnte sich das abgesenkte Wahlalter auf die Europawahl auswirken?
#BigTech hat mit #DarkPattern, #Framing, #Gamification, #PrivacyWashing usw. eine ideale Basis geschaffen, die #Extremisten nutzen um uns noch stärker von einander zu isolieren und gegenüber Mitmenschen misstrauischer zu werden. Wenn ich einem Freund anbiete bspw. ein Chatkonto auf einem Server von mir zu erhalten, wird unterstellt, dass ich sie/ihn ausspionieren und abhängig machen wollen würde. Bei #GAFAM ist sowas irrelevant. :yayblob:
@bogo Also, we are currently not planning on adding #gamification. @streetcomplete tried this, but they said it didn't have much effect and it might disalign the incentives (from mapping for the greater good to adding bogus data for the streak - even though I'm not aware of such cases)

Found an early example of #gamification. In the early spring of 1502, the noble lady Kristina Eriksdotter (Tott) was ill. Her family wrote the names of thirty saints on slips of paper and drew lots with them until they had hit the same saint three times. This was St. Karlung of Roslagen, an uncanonical regional saint popular along the coast of Uppland. The family prayed to Karlung, and Lady Kristina died within a few months.

A differenza dei social del fediverso qui non c'è #gamification, nessuna stelina, nessuna reaction, niente counter dei follower e non ci sono limiti di caratteri: è la piattaforma pura per scrivere, senza distrazioni social, contano solo le parole.

Die gerade einsetzende Dynamik relevanter Teile der Wissenschafts-Bubble von #eXtwitter Richtung #bluesky statt #Mastodon macht mich wieder mal ratlos.
Ich vermute hier ähnliche Mechanismen wie bei Open Access: Mensch weiß schon irgendwie, dass es besser wäre, aber die oft prekäre Gesamtsituation führt zu einem strukturkonservativem Verhalten.
Das Bild ist sicher nicht unabsichtlich in Ego-Shooter Style aufgenommen, ebenso wenig wie dass man dadurch einen Bezug zu Christchurch, Halle etc. herstellen kann.
Ich kann nur hoffen, dass die zuständigen Behörden schnellstens reagieren.

But the technology built by these companies is inherently problematic as the apps allow the monitoring of domestic workers, often without their consent or knowledge, lawyers and researchers told Rest of World. The apps further an existing form of discrimination that plays out in urban Indian apartment complexes, according to digital activist and researcher Srinivas Kodali. These “walled gardens have been built by the upper classes to essentially forget how bad the outside world is” and exclude the poor, he told Rest of World. “There was always an amount of surveillance as to who gets to access the space, and now that access is highly monitored, gamified.”"
@syllopsium@lori@jlroberson@Green_Footballs "Worse for the creator" points to the #gamification disaster with commercial, centralised social media; it shifted from being a way to communicate and share ideas (e.g. earlier incarnations like Usenet, mailing lists, and BBSs, as well as blogging) to a childish competition for who could amass the most followers/views/likes/etc. That was, unfortunately, highly addictive for many people, and the "social" part has suffered as a result.
