It seems that the #joystick#calibration button, present in #kde#plasma 5, has disappeared in plasma 6. Unfortunately my joysticks are almost unusable if not calibrated :( How can I fix this?
I've been using the Deluxe Mini Monster Joystick for four years now, and a LOT. It served me really well so far. Even though it has some minor flaws it is an excellent stick. If I ever need to replace it, I will probably opt for the Super Deluxe variant, which is even sturdier. That's probably the last stick you ever buy...

I've been reading about #retro#joystick DE-9 (DB9) interfaces today. I completely forgot the CD32 needed to extend it with a clever, but differently clever bit handshake protocol compared to the #megadrive (One of the control pins on the Sega is actually hardwired as supplying power from the Amiga). http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/DE-9_Joystick#projectideas

J'ai tout de suite adoré #Arcanum, dès sa preview dans #Joystick (lue et relue pendant, ça m'a marqué, des vacances de Noël 2000 curieusement passées à Nouakchott), puis en découvrant sa superbe boîte (embarquant l'#ost) et plus encore, évidemment, après y avoir joué ! Pour moi un classique à la hauteur des premiers #Fallout, visiblement pas si bon que ça quand je vois qu'il est beaucoup moins passé à la postérité. J'ai le souvenir assez net d'avoir acheté la #bigbox de #ElderScrolls#Battlespire dans une boutique de #jeuxvidéo (qui n'existe plus) près de la galerie commerciale (qui n'existait pas encore) Les Champs à #SaintBrieuc, mais le ticket de caisse que j'ai retrouvé dans la boîte me fait douter. J'ai toujours trouvé l'illu hyper classe et le jeu, découvert dans #Joystick, intrigant. Mais en fait c'était un #Daggerfall débarrassé de tout ce qui en faisait l'intérêt, donc bof.
On enchaîne sur du forcément moins culte. #BermudaSyndrome, on y vient pour son nom rigolo (et parce que je l'avais eu gratos dans un #Joystick), on y reste parce que c'est un clone sympa mais tardif de #Flashback & cie, et on finit par l'acheter parce qu'on le trouve pas cher sur Leboncoin ou un truc du genre.
Le mois dernier, un copain, ancien journaliste à #Joystick (Sundin, circa 2007-2011 👨🏫) mais aussi proto esportif car faisant partie avant ça des meilleurs joueurs français d'#AgeofEmpires III, sachant mon amour des #bigbox, m'a offert son exemplaire du jeu, sous forme de TRES GROSSE #bigbox. Most DOS games that offer analog joystick control include some form of calibration. However, some games have poor or limited calibration resulting in the joystick’s position drifting or being offset, despite calibration attempts.
To compensate for these cases, DOSBox Staging lets you adjust the joystick’s X and Y position parameters in real time by enabling the use_joy_calibration_hotkeys setting in the [joystick] config section.
Once activated, you can tap Ctrl + arrow-keys or Alt + arrow-keys to adjust either the joystick’s scalar multiplier or absolute offset position, respectively. These let you “counterbalance” calibration issues in real time.
Each tap of the hotkeys will log the calibration values for the given axis.
Once you’ve found the optimal settings for a game, the logged calibration values can be placed in the game’s local config file. Using the above as an example:
