SDF is referred to as the "Signed Distance Field". the work is mainly based on the prior R&D work from @iquilezles, @mmalex, @sjb3d and @lritter, and I'm glad that I also developed some of my own techniques in this program. #magicaCSG
If my MagicaCSG modeling posts have attracted your interest in the SDF modeling method, you might like to have a look at Womp, a free online SDF editor (with a "Pro" subscription option).
I've just played with it for a few minutes, and you can export your scene as an OBJ file, complete with textures for recreating the Womp materials in Blender, as you can see in the screenshot.
@daniel Yes, it would be very welcome to have at least some kind of procedural texturing in #MagicaCSG, and/or an option to use an image texture with blended box / triplanar map projection.
I also like Womp's new possibility of importing meshes and converting them to SDF.
Started a new hard-surface modeling project in MagicaCSG.
By posting works in progress here, I force myself to turn this into something interesting, or I will be unmasked as an impostor, and eternal embarrassment will be my fate. 😅
