Margot Robbie is taking on yet another of our childhood memories — her company LuckyChap is set to produce a live-action feature film based on Monopoly. Here's more from Variety.
In the two days since the Oscar nominations were announced, everyone has weighed in on the snubbing of Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig, from nominated co-stars Ryan Gosling and America Ferrara to Hillary Clinton. The Hollywood Reporter's Rebecca Sun says there are valid points to be made about the omissions, but it's simplistic to put it all down to sexism. "One irony of the backlash to the 'Barbie' snubs is that it has attempted to pit women against women. (Barbie Land would never!)," Sun writes.
Ryan Gosling has released a statement detailing his disappointment at the lack of Oscar nominations for his ""Barbie" director and co-star. “There is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally celebrated film,” Gosling wrote. Here's more from Uproxx.
I hadn't really been interested in seeing #BarbieMovie, but then I heard various things about it, enough to convince me to go, so I went with friends last night.
Overall, I liked the movie, though I thought the pacing was off in parts. #MargotRobbie was terrific, and I enjoyed others in the film as well. /1
Glad to see INNÉ, a local bag brand, is actively posting again. I suppose this means they're back to regular programming after slowing down during the height of the pandemic. Their Sia Two-way Tote remains to be one of my faves. (And yes, they also ship internationally!)
