#Omaha and western #Iowa have been pummeled by #tornadoes tonight. I am no longer leading my team, but I've been in touch with them and they are ready to respond. #newx#iawx
Yesterday was a day. It's hard to put into words the power of experiencing an outbreak like this. We witnessed 3 tornadoes between Lincoln, NE, the Missouri River, and Minden, IA.
I'm very glad to hear that only injuries were reported and that there have been no confirmed fatalities from the outbreak.
#Adams, #Webster, #Nebraska: National Weather Service: #TORNADO WARNING in this area until 10:45 PM CDT. Take shelter now in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. This video from the Lincoln, NE tornado is some of the most illustrative tornado damage footage I've ever seen. Perfect positioning, not too close, not too far away. And no one had to die to get this footage. #newxhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTGHQphn_Ys
We’re in another Winter Storm Warning for eastern #Nebraska with total #snow accumulations between 3 and 7 or so inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph, so there will be some drifting. Not looking forward to shoveling more snow, but it should light and fluffy, in contrast to the heavy, wet snow from earlier in the week.
Plenty of schools are closing tomorrow, making it the third #snowday this week since a winter storm came through earlier in the week. ❄️
Extremely active weather today in the US. If you live anywhere with a color, type in your city/state or zip code and get your details https://www.weather.gov/
Lincoln, NE was 81 F at 3 PM. Relative humidity 9%. Winds gusting to 38 mph. This is west Texas weather in eastern Nebraska. 80+ degree weather was unheard of in my childhood, growing up in Omaha and Lincoln.
The record high for today is 79, which breaks a 128 year old record by 2 degrees. #newx
