With the Trump campaign, it's from the White House to the Big House, Dan Rather says:
"Yet another Trump insider [Navarro] has reported to prison. Meanwhile, a former Trump campaign chief [Manafort] who previously spent time behind bars may soon be helping the former president raise money for his current campaign. It’s another day of disbelief in Republican politics. Truly, you can’t make it up."
Navarro's press conference before entering jail was great. Trying to act all macho and whining he'd been wronged, you could feel him shuddering deeply inside. I'm like, buddy, don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Bu-bye!
“To fact-check there, it is no longer an alleged crime that he’ll be serving this four-month sentence for. He has obviously been convicted, and there was no evidence that would have excluded him, per executive privilege, from testifying.”

Fox News anchor Sandra Smith cuts away from Peter #Navarro's speech outside of prison:
"To fact check there, it is no longer an alleged crime... he has obviously been convicted and there was no evidence that would have excluded him, per executive privilege, from testifying."
Peter #Navarro was assigned by Bureau of Prisons to an 80-person dormitory reserved for older inmates in the Miami federal prison facility, according to a source familiar with the matter. Navarro is expected to have some access to email and phone
"The Supreme Court has refused to halt a prison sentence for former Trump White House official Peter Navarro as he appeals his contempt of Congress conviction"
Peter Navarro is due to report to a federal prison on Tuesday after an appeals court ruled that his appeal wasn’t likely to overturn his conviction for refusing to cooperate with a congressional investigation into the #January6 attack that Trump supporters aimed at the US Capitol in 2021. #Navarro has maintained that he couldn’t cooperate with the committee because Trump had invoked executive #privilege. Federal judge Amit Mehta, who was appointed during Barack Obama’s presidency, barred Navarro from making that argument at trial, finding that he didn’t show Trump had actually invoked it.
His emergency application to the Supreme Court comes as the court separately prepares to hear arguments on whether Trump himself has presidential #immunity from charges alleging he interfered in the 2020 election that he lost to Joe Biden
Navarro was the second Trump aide convicted of misdemeanor congressional contempt charges. Former Trump White House chief strategist #Steve#Bannon previously received a four-month sentence but was allowed to stay free pending appeal by federal judge Carl Nichols, who was appointed by Trump.
Navarro – an economist and Trump’s trade adviser – was found guilty of #defying a #subpoena for documents and a deposition from the House committee that was investigating the January 6 attack. He also #promoted Trump’s #lies about how electoral fraudsters denied him victory against Biden and was given a four-month #prison sentence.
FLASH: Three judge DC appeals court panel rejects former #Trump advisor Peter #Navarro’s request to stay (pause during appeal) his prison sentence in contempt of Congress case. Navarro is scheduled to surrender by Tuesday #legal
“Former #Trump WH aide Peter #Navarro has been ordered to report to a Miami prison on March 19 to begin serving a 4 month sentence for defying a subpoena from Jan6 select committee.
Navarro, who is urging a federal appeals court to stay the sentence while he attempts to overturn his conviction, faces the prospect of becoming the first top adviser to Trump to serve jail time for offense related to the effort to subvert election.”
NEWS: A judge threatened to hold Peter #NAVARRO in contempt Tuesday for what she ruled were violations of her order that he return dozens of presidential records to the National Archives.
Judge Kollar-Kotelly reviewed a sample of 50 emails Navarro said were NOT pres records & concluded that he was wrong about at least 12 of them and possibly another 16.
