Good morning! It’s the last day of the #TrumpTrial before jury #deliberations.
Today Justice #Merchan will give #JuryInstructions. Then they will discuss the case among themselves for the first time; they have not been allowed to even discuss it w/each other as yet.
Closing arguments took place yesterday, & the lawyers will have no further opportunity to address the jurors before they determine whether #Trump is #guilty or not guilty of 34 felonies.
Justice #Merchan would likely hand down #Trump’s sentence several weeks after the #guilty#verdict. But it’s possible that any punishment could be delayed.
Trump… will undoubtedly #appeal any #conviction, a lengthy process that could take months or longer & would likely not be resolved before Election Day. In that case, he would likely remain free until the appeal is resolved.
The court, in a 4-3 ruling, ruled that the judge in the New York County trial prejudiced #Weinstein with improper rulings, including allowing women to testify about allegations that were not part of the case.

Closing arguments came on the 9th day of a trial that has gripped the #Texas Capitol & pitted 2 factions of an increasingly divided #Republican Party against each other over the fate of an #AttorneyGeneral seen by many voters in the state as their #conservative champion.
Only 2X before in the state’s history have TX senators been asked to consider expelling an elected ofcl from office, & not since 1917 have they done so for a statewide ofcl. Both previous impeachment trials ended in #conviction.
All these co-defendants think that if they pig-headedly stick with the demonstrable lie that the #2020election was stolen from Donald #Trump, it will somehow result in their acquittal.
