During remarks this week, #Trump said he wanted to “pay tribute” to a person he very much respected.
Trump thanked #TomHoman, who served as acting director of #ICE during Trump’s admin [Trump loved “acting” posts bc they aren’t subject to congressional confirmation] & has since been a frequent commentator on #FauxNews.
…Another expected attendee Thurs night is #RodneyScott, who served as #BorderPatrol chief during Trump’s last yr in office & has defended #ZeroTolerance by arguing that it was effective in slowing down migration.…Scott explored the idea of placing buoys in the #RioGrande to deter migrants years before #Texas actually did it.
#SCOTUS sided w/ the #Biden admin on Mon & cleared the way for #border patrol agents to remove #RazorWire#Texas ofcls installed along a busy stretch of the southern border until the legality of the barriers is resolved in court.
4 conservatives — Justices #ClarenceThomas, Samuel #Alito, Neil #Gorsuch & Brett #Kavanaugh — noted their dissents w/o explanation.
A man carries a young girl on his shoulders as he and a group of several hundred people wade across the Rio Grande into Eagle Pass from Piedras Negras in Mexico.
"All these dirty #immigrants are costing #America so much money! We could be using that money to fund another #taxCut for the nation's wealthy, but instead we have to pay for barbaric #torture devices along the #RioGrande, and private flights to transport intentionally deceived #migrants to states we don't like! Joe Biden allowed 2 billion #Mexican rapists to enter the country last week alone! When will this assault on the good #Christians of America stop??" ~Tomi Lahren
A federal court has ordered Texas to remove its razor wire-topped floating barrier from the Rio Grande by Sept 15. However, the order requires only that the barrier be moved to the riverbank, not that it be dismantled.

Why isn’t this disgusting waste of #taxpayers💰in furtherance of a scheme…
By the #texas Gov. #gregabbott to push his political agenda…
At the cost of lives!
Much like #Hitler …He thinks these lives don’t matter.
It’s blatant #machiavellian campaign of hate & power.
Unfortunately, Texas citizenry pay the enormous price tag…& public shaming.
Will Bunch writes that the young man who drowned in the Rio Grande the first week of August due to Greg Abbott's buoy barrier had a name:
Norlan Bayardo Herrera.
But he adds,
"If I had waited on the American mainstream media to write about the human beings lost to the barbaric policies of the governor of the nation’s second-largest state, I would still be waiting."
"The wrecking ball-sized buoys that make up the floating barrier that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott installed in July in the Rio Grande have circular saws between them, according to a video posted by Rep. Sylvia Garcia."
~ Khaleda Rahman
This is because Texas Republicans are, as they constantly loudly proclaim, pro-life, right? It's because they're led by Catholic pro-life governor Abbott, right?
US-Regierung verklagt Texas wegen schwimmender Mauer gegen Migration
Der US-Bundesstaat Texas hat eine Barriere auf dem Rio Grande errichtet. Sie soll Migranten davon abhalten, die Grenze zu überqueren. Das US-Justizministerium hat dagegen nun rechtliche Schritte eingeleitet.
The #DOJ on Mon filed suit against the #Texas over its installation of a floating barrier meant to stop people from swimming across the #RioGrande, arguing that the interlocking buoys placed in the river by the state violated federal #law.
The suit comes after Gov Greg #Abbott of TX, who heralded the installation of the 1K’ barrier this month, refused a request from Justice to remove the buoys voluntarily….
The governor revealed plans for a floating river barrier at a Capitol signing ceremony for six new laws related to border security. The first 1,000-foot section will be set up near Eagle Pass.
