This artifact from last century arrived this morning. I’m going to change the cable to the 15 pin external controller plug as I don’t have a snes/super Famicom at the moment. In the future I’ll either make an adapter or put a connector on the back to allow easy cable swaps.

I may swap buttons & joystick for even higher grade parts, but first things first. (Does it even work?)

Inside the beast. On the main green board there’s the connector for the cable to the console. I noted which pin each signal should be on.

The old Famicom network controller has donated its cable for the fight stick. Of course the color/signal correspondence differs from the original Hori cable, so I had to carefully map out the connections. The new connector completed I reassembled & tested the unit — it’s awesome.

So it turns out Shinseiki Evangelion: Battle Orchestra plays great with an arcade stick, emulated on a PS3.

Also, made a shadow box display of some N64 carts to liven up the space. Weird photo angle for privacy's sake.

This arrived today, and oh wow... it's incredible. So far, I quickly tried it on Muse Dash via Steam on my Mac.

When I have more time, I will try it on some Shmups, Fighters and arcade games on my Switch.

:boost: Ich finde den Playstation 5 Controller ja mega geil mit den Funktionen. Aber in der Hand habe ich immer das Gefühl, dass er von der Qualität eher minderwertig ist. Fühlt sich an wie billiges Plastik.
Irgendwie gefällt mir der Switch Pro Controller besser, fühlt sich auch hochwertiger an. Ich glaube das ist auch mein Lieblingscontroller 🤔

Welcher Controller der drei großen Hersteller gefällt euch am besten?

Bei dem Camouflage habe ich oft gelesen, dass er quietscht, auch mein weißer knarzt ganz wenig (mein aber auch), der rote ist ein Traum... denke man muss Glück haben, wann und wo er vom Band lief...
Und mit den Konvertern bin ich nun recht frei in der Wahl. Auf die Idee kam ich, weil ich nicht ständig einen neuen kaufen und modden wollte ( )😎

I promised more pics of my #arcadestick! Built from scratch from acrylic plates,, always in progress, and surprisingly reliable, the SaltFighter V5a is the closest i get to feeling like a shonen protagonist.

I built it from scratch in 2014 and have been iterating on it since, swapping out parts Ship of Theseus style.

With each new game i learn i add artwork of my main to a button. It's a symbol of where I've been. Who I've been.

Been researching fight sticks for potentially playing #SF6 on PS5 and holy crap, this is confusing! 😩 Everything seems to be super expensive, always out of stock, maybe works with a firmware update, requires an adaptor, will/won't require another controller to be plugged in...

I just want to plug in a USB cable, have everything I need, and for it to just work 100% of the time. Any thoughts?

@benjaminrivers Are you looking for a classic design with an actual stick, or a stickless , all buttons design?

What is your ideal budget?

Will you be playing on anything other than PS5?

Do you intend to travel with this stick, whether that's to friend's houses or tourney venues? Or will it live and stay at your home?

Do you want something you can customize later? Or a one time solution? Many arcade sticks are designed to allow swappable buttons and joystick
