Some people think #Bluesky is “fun”. However, I find it anxiety-inducing and stressful. I’m not the only one who thinks so. A few autistic people say the same thing.
#Calckey seems “fun” to me because I can make it be what I need it to be. For example, it’s nice that I can create antennas devoted to my special interests.
@atomicpoet@fediversenews#Explore section could be more vivid and versatile. By adding a couple deft options for sorting/showing recently viral/ish posts for those eagar to browse faved/boosted and yet unseen content, would decently compensate the complete lack of algos on feeds
@aral@zleap I agree, there is nothing to do for the masses that don't want to be "saved".
IMHO the best we can do is make ourselves an alternative here. Twitter/big social is commerce/pop culture the #fediverse is for community and connection. It attracts completely different types of people.

I am not in Calckey, I am on the Fediverse. It’s both more technically correct and communicate a better idea of a universal network
@strypey yes, support for ActivityPub has been proposed to the folks @thepracticaldev / Forem before, and I believe they are excited about the possibilities of the #Fediverse as well. Not sure what their roadmap looks like right now.
@dansup@pixelfed#pixelfed is awesome! I wish more people got rid of meta for good and embrace #fediverse so we can take the web for us again from the corps.
After talking with @wild1145 , it seems that the reports of transphobia were back from an old post/posts which never federated the delete action properly, leading to a false sense of a lack of admin/moderation action. They're committed to moderating against transphobia, so we are re-federating with mastodonapp.uk! My sincerest apologies for jumping to conclusions over something which clearly required more investigation and outreach.

Dass nach dem @ZDF nun auch mehrere Accounts wie z.B. die @tagesschau hier offizielle Kanäle, gar eine eigene ARD-Instanz eröffnet haben, ist ein sehr großer und wichtiger Schritt. Um Mastodon bei der zumeist trägen Social-Media-Masse bekannter zu machen und die diffuse Sorge vor der Komplexität zu zerstreuen... 👋🏻👍🏻
Ja, ich weiß, dass viele "Alteingesessene" hier lieber unter sich bleiben wollen. Aber die Struktur des #Fediverse, die Instanz-Logik bietet sich doch geradezu an, hier "sein eigenes Ding" zu machen (für sich, lokal, begrenzt), wenn parallel "die Masse" auf der Hauptinstanz (oder anderswo) bleibt. Ich mag #Mastodon, aber mir fehlen immer noch sehr(!) viele Menschen von "Drüben" hier. Period.

Obviously I hit a sensitive nerve, very much to my surprise. Constructive dialogue and diverse perspectives are crucial for building a welcoming and inclusive community. And I appreciate all the responses I got so far.
Mastodon as a part of the the Fediverse inherits its values like inclusivity, privacy, and decentralization. However, as with any online platform owned and controlled by a single entity (I avoid the legal term "Corporation" for now), it is prone to echo chambers and exclusionary practices. Signs of that we see with the recent release of the official Mastodon iOS App. By engaging in conversations about instance diversity and advocating for inclusivity, we all help to shape the culture of Mastodon and make it a space where everyone feels welcome and valued. Today and in the future.
Let's work together to build a social network that reflects the best of what the internet can be: a place where diverse voices can come together to share ideas, learn from each other, and build connections across differences.

Not as specs to be slavishly implemented, but as food for thought. Organising without a hierarchy, derived from a central authority brings unique challenges and opportunities, and it's good to come prepared.
If you're acquainted with #akkoma, you'll find the #calckey Recommended Timeline basically the same as the bubble timeline there. Your admin has chosen a small subset of your federated/global timeline - usually instances that your instance is in close relationship with, much like like the community of communities idea behind the bubble concept. #Fediverse#calckeytips

I've been Twitter-free for six months now. I have learned a lot here and I'm so happy to have stayed in Mastodon, despite the initial difficulties to start. I also have a Pixelfed account now, and I follow some Calckey accounts, so I guess I'm happy with the Fediverse in general.
