I love tinkering with AI upscaling models. Here's Kurt Russell in The Thing, featuring the coolest beard ever.

The first image is the heavily JPEG-compressed 310 x 462 pixels original.

Fellow Mastodonians ...

Do any of you do video editing ... perhaps for a podcast or maybe personal home videos? If so, what is the best, most easily used video editing software out there?

I don't need all the bells & whistles, but will need features like splicing video segments (from diff't sources) together, some nice (not over the top) transitions, ease of use, & good quality end results.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Yes, Safari 17 supports JPEG XL. On macOS Sonoma, macOS Ventura and macOS Monterey, as well as iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and soon, visionOS.

We also added HEIC — especially for web apps that want to let users edit photos directly from the camera.

Please, please, PLEASE folks uploading to , be mindful of the size of the picture and file you're uploading. First, we have to store those large , and second, extremely large images don't do well with the native image preview function. Have been seeing it a lot recently, and makes me wonder if a particular third party app is at fault.

Check out this Martian panorama, captured by Curiosity two days ago, on Sol 4174. It is made of 50 adjacent images, each 1328x1184 pixels. Let's go for some zooms👇

Mars helicopter Ingenuity completed Flight 71 on Jan 6.

But Ingenuity made an emergency and safe landing 35 seconds into the planned 125 second flight.

NASA states that "the relatively featureless terrain it flew over (sand ripples with few or no rocks) proved to be a challenge for its navigation system."

This sounds different than the emergency landing during flight 53 on July 22, 2023, when the ‘LAND_NOW’ software was triggered by a loss of image frames.

I just saw a picture of a smiling Mr. Rogers behind a "Sensitive Content" warning, and I'm officially calling it. 11:15am central time, Friday the 13th, 2023, this feature's usefulness is dead from overuse. When all content is sensitive, none of it is.

Looking at images on KBin is incredibly inneficient

As things are I have to click on the link, whitch directs you again to the individual post and then you have to click AGAIN to make the image full screen. Thats also IF the image is viewable from KBin at all. Some times you have to click a link to see an image that is posted else where. Minor anoyance but images are a large part...

So many bots being used to make new art by learning about other people's art, not enough AI bots being used to scroll through and craft helpful for people.

Lately I have been seeing so many posts with images and they are not including Alt text for accessibility.

If you are posting images please always put a Alt text saying what is or what it's showing so people with disability can understand what they are seeing.

I like to search images over the and I've been trying different search engines and I find that may be the best option. I noticed that there are much more displayed than the others. Am I right? Is Ecosia the best one or are there others?
