YOM RISHON is a virtual service open to all, featuring meditation, traditional Jewish prayer, music & the 32 Paths of Presence (Hebrew letters and the Tree of Life).
Tuesday 06:37.
The work week at the #FoodBank continues. I am kept busy, but currently not hectic, which gives me time for side project catch-up.
But first, my #Coffee - a good start to the day.
After work I am looking forward to the Men's #Prayer Group I am part of. If you are local to the Lexington, KY area and want to join this group to pray together, please inform me.
The D-Group (#Discipleship) has stopped for the season. It ended with my birthday cake and fellowship last week.#DGroup
Born of Rhea, last of her children
A young god from the womb of an eldeer
Fathered by Kronos, king of the heavens
Of an era long gone now
Destined to be consumed were you
For your father feared the future
Not knowing he was the cause
Of his very own demise
Raised on Crete, that sacred land
Where spirits of the land were tasked with you
Fed the milk of Amaltheia, the goat
And kept hidden by the songs of the Kouretes
Destiny was no match for your mother saved you
A stone she gave your hungry father
Who subsumed it into himself
As he would have done to you
A young and powerful god you were
Told tales of your father’s guilt
And your mothers desperate gamble
You grew to beauteous godhood
Destiny once more exerted her power
You rose to high Olympus
And to your father presented yourself
A cupbearer to serve him as he ruled
A scheming god, wise and patient
A cup you prepared for your father
Herbs and spices in his beloved wine
To induce in him a need to set off your plans
Destiny spun its threads
And into the tapestry of life set your story
As god after god was born anew
From the father’s body expelled
With divine power and righteous anger
The children went to war with their father
From the depths others released
To fight for you in this holy time
Destiny wove your righteous actions into fate
The great mother advised you and yours
Thunder was forged for you
To win this holy war in the heavenly realm
The war won you took a wife
And betrayed the children of Earth
Whose weapons helped your cause
And into the dark pits did you send them
So Destiny once more turned its spindle
The threads once more she wove into life
A new perophecy, a new fate
One we pray will not come to pass
And so you rule, O Heavenly Zeus
God of the mountain peaks
Stirring the clouds to storming
Bearer of the thunder that none yet dare face
A few months ago I went to a women's conference. The music was too loud. I sustained damage to my ears. Hearing loss and fullness that lasted for 2 weeks. I got a miracle! Fully recovered with no more loss!
This is a sketch from my journal while I was waiting for my prayers to be answered.
Saturday 5:02am.
My set alarm just woke me.
Time to make a flask of #Coffee and drive to a local church building.
I have an hour slot in the 24 hours of #prayer, at 6:00am.
Arianna wasn't feeling the best yesterday, so our plans depend on how she is doing. Shall check on her when I get home.
Pretty sure I will be working on #laundry at some point today.
Take care of everyone!
@RL_Dane I love typos that backfire and are funny.
Still, you are awesome.
Arianna is doing fine today.
We are planning going out for breakfast with her friend and classmates.
I can't think of many things more counterproductive than #prayer. It's even worse than people deciding to do nothing because at least the clear display of apathy towards an issue could influence people who do care to take action, but if everyone is convinced that prayer works (which it doesn't) then what motivation would they have to do anything themselves if they believe they can solve their problems through magical incantations? #atheism#atheist#Christianity#Islam#Hinduism#Judaism
"Before we discuss raising taxes on the poor & middle class, adding $1 trillion to the deficit, taking health insurance away from 13 million, raising premiums by 10%, defending treason and swearing in a pedophile, let's begin with a prayer."

No matter how sacred people claim they are, religious beliefs are subjective and not immune to criticism just like any other belief system or ideology. Criticism of religion is not an attack on individuals, it's a critique of ideas and practices that have societal implications. Religious people shouldn't be offended by criticism of their religion. #faith#prayer#spirituality#divine#belief#soul#sacred#blessings
The Key Bridge collapse hit me emotionally in a way I did not expect. It's a huge physical landmark that has been a part of my life for my entire time living in the Baltimore area (i.e. since 2008). It was a huge part of my commute and even visiting family. And now it's just...gone.
I heard a friend online say it's like grieving the loss of a human member of the community and, while it feels weird, it's kind of apt.
Still feels surreal. Still praying for those who were harmed in the incident.
@mdmrn It feels like “making less of it” be comparing it to 9/11, but I feel like the physical impact is still there. I often went in and out of NYC via the Path to Hoboken, and so the Twin Towers were a huge entry point for me. I never failed to just stand and LOOK UP when I exited the station. Thinking of a familiar and huge presence like that just being…. gone forever? It sticks with you, no manner what other externalities are attached.
It is a somber Tuesday after the incident on the Francis Scott Key Bridge. That is my local commuter bridge and the one I took to work daily for over a decade before getting my current, local job.
My BIL / SIL take it still take it. I am thankful their commute did not line up with the incident. We called them both when we saw the news early this morning to check. I am also thankful for those who were able to be saved so far out of the harbor.
I pray that more folks who fell in are found and saved.
@mdmrn Utterly terrifying event to watch happen. You never consider that a whole bridge could collapse in mere seconds like that.
Going to haunt an awful lot of people going over any maritime bridge for a while. 😖
I am not form the area, but know a lot of Baltimoreites due to Otakon, and go down there and to DC when I can, and had been wanting to for the cherry blossoms. Been in communication with various people all day.
A peaceful morning on the way to work. I usually don't like getting started in the mornings on Mondays. This was a good reminder to take a deep breath and slow down.
Pray that the Beneath the Tangles microblogging ministries (Twitter, Mastodon, and Threads) will engage our community and point them toward content that honors Christ.
