I bought a couple of job lots of gear yesterday - a lot of stuff and some Soviet lenses in LTM and Contax mounts - and now I’m trying to take stock of it all and check it all over.

It’s a bit overwhelming.

In other news, if someone wants a nice Jupiter 12, I might have two fully tested and checked ones for sale soon…

Lens coatings are something people don't spend a lot of time thinking about, but they benefit from every day. But there's a specific group of nerds that are sad that all those new fancy lens coatings are making lens flare a thing of the past. This is the old M39 35mm f/2 strapped to a mirrorless camera using a helicoid adapter.

Day 7: I spent a good chunk of time this year playing with widgets from the 1950s that turn a into a close-up/macro/copying rig. Sure, it'd be easier to do this with any SLR - and even easier with digital - but there's a perverse pleasure in using these weird contraptions and pushing a Leica as far as it can go.

(There'll be more like this as the month goes on!)

The Nikon SP Limited Edition Rangefinder. The most valuable camera in my film camera collection (of nine film cameras, not much of a collection lol).

I've only put 3 rolls of film through this. Two with the included matched Nikkor 35mm f1.8, and one roll with this Voigtlander 50mm attached.

Nikon only made 2,500 of these, with matching serial number 35mm lenses.

Next an analog photo from Amsterdam took with my Zorki 4 camera (an old Soviet rangefinder) from 1966. 📷 Let's imagine that this photo doesn't have these few modern cars, then you could say that this photo looks like it was taken a few decades ago. Canals in Amsterdam are the most iconic places of this city, many calls this city the Venice of the north and I can confirm it's true! 🥰

Gear:

Contemporary art met our really old camera. 📷 It's next an analog photo! I took this shot at The Moco Museum in Amsterdam. If you like contemporary art, I highly recommend checking it out and visiting! ☺️

We've just returned from our trip to the Netherlands, and I'm starting to post new photos! Of course, there was no way to not take a film roll and an analog camera. 📷 It was the first time I shoot photos with a rangefinder, if you like it, please stay tuned because there will be more to come! I took this shot in Amsterdam with the Zorki 4 camera (an old Soviet rangefinder) from 1966. 🥰
