I'm looking for a webcam plugin for my #WordPress website. Just want people to be able to view an image that I update every few seconds using #NodeRED to #SFTP it to the server. Any suggestions from people who do this?
Ugh, so in one of the replies to my experiments with #BorgBackup and associated tooling, @guerda asked "well, why not #restic?" and turns out, my main reasons against using restic (no compression and no exclude exceptions) are no longer valid, so I'm currently re-evaluating it.
Almost finished my writeup. And you know what? Both are really good.
My decision might boil down to performance against remote hosts and SSH vs SFTP, and whether "rclone serve restic" can save the day there.
I want to hear what you folks use to sync blogs/webpages over SFTP.
So, the setup is that you have a bunch of files (HTML, CSS, etc) on your local computer, and you want to update your hosting with the latest version, having only SFTP access.
I am mounting it locally with sshfs and then using "rsync -vuz --delete --recursive <source> <destination>", but I feel like there is a better way (or better rsync options).
Frankly, it's a good thing that consoles no longer allow uploads of gaming clips to proprietary social platforms like Twitter and Facebook †. What Sony should have been doing all along was letting people access their own consoles via #SSH and #SFTP so that they could easily copy clips and screenshots to their computers.
Given that the #PlayStation firmware is based on #FreeBSD, there is no technical reason Sony couldn't support SSH. They just probably think it'll enable piracy, which sounds like arrant bullshit to me.
Yes, I know I could connect USB storage or upload to Sony's app on my phone. Neither option is palatable. I want SSH. It's familiar and convenient. But, hey, this is what I get for not wanting to put up with #Windows or #Steam with #Proton just so I can play video games.
Anyone with a recommendation for a #TUI (aka #terminal) file manager with split (mc-style) or multiple window interface that supports #WebDAV and/or #SFTPon its own?
I know that I could just use FUSE to mount remote folders locally – except that I can’t use FUSE on one of the machines that I need this file manager on (because it’s running WSL1 – please refrain from commenting on that).
So, it needs to be able to talk to WebDAV or SFTP without FUSE.
[Help!]
Irgendeine Idee?
Storing your personal data, family photos, and other files in the cloud may be utilized for machine learning and AI purposes by ToS. It doesn't matter if it is a free or paid service. These greedy companies will not stop. Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent this from happening besides discontinuing the use of nearly all cloud services.
>The Government of Nova Scotia, which uses MOVEit to share files across departments, also confirmed it was affected, and said in a statement that some citizens’ personal information may have been compromised. However, in a message on its leak site, Clop said, “if you are a government, city or police service… we erased all your data.”
@lewdthewides Yeah... with #sftp servers supporting #LDAP + #Kerberos and #Wormhole existing, I just can't find myself being particularly sympathetic to them.
There was absolutely no reason to use some #proprietary service for it.
