The Israeli regime army issued a statement this evening (Wednesday) claiming that it has gained operational control over the axis known as "Philadelphia" on the border lines of occupied Palestine and #Egypt.

Remember the BS talks by Al-Sisi, #Biden, #Sunak, #Macron and other assholes about the red lines in Rafah?

None of them lifting a finger about the slaughter of the innocent Palestinians who are stuck in #Rafah with no where to go.

Remember the 2019 manifesto promising a "National Care Service"?

Remember their pledge to cap care home fees recoupable by local authorities from Estates?

Remember who was Chancellor of the Exchequer at the time, and how his pledges evaporated into thin air?

Senior citizens of the United Kingdom, form an orderly queue please to be "had" by the again ahead of a General Election.

Sunak airbrushed from launch of Scottish Tories’ general election campaign

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2024/may/28/tories-triple-lock-plus-planned-tax-cut-pensioners-labour-rishi-sunak-general-election

Douglas Ross barely mentions Westminster or Conservative policies and does not say PM’s name in speech kicking off campaign

I am surprised they are allowing Ross to show his face quite frankly.

Ministers critiquing the back of the envelope policies of their PM, taking their holidays during the election campaign, MPs throwing in the towel and backing Reform candidates, a peer and former minister claiming the PM will be off to California in a few weeks…

Kind of gives the impression that ’s own party loathe him and can’t wait to see him gone, no?

I guess he thought setting the date for an election was kind of like planning a suprise birthday for someone…he thought he was doing his party a nice favour, but he kept everyone in the dark because he doesn’t trust anyone and consequently has few political friends…so no one is quite sure who the suprise party/election is for…other than for …and hang on, who plans their own suprise birthday party?

Sunak takes a "day off", and this is what he comes up with.

Tory twattery. Might appeal to the 80-year-olds, but it's not going to win them any votes in the 18-25 age group. Or anyone who isn't likely to die in the next decade...

Keir and Rishi are two sides of the same rotten politics

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/may/25/election-pm-change-politics-keir-starmer-rishi-sunak

Neither of them believe in anything (with the exception of power for its own sake) but are strangely influential in their own parties. It is difficult to see them having come into politics with any interest in serving either their constituents or the country. Other politicians such as can be, rightly, be criticised but they have their countries interests at heart.

My favourite take on and is by Ian Dunt (inews):

Sunak outlined his election stategy — to vote for him and him alone, as the only leader with a plan. Standing outside in the rain without an umbrella and getting soaked — a perfect example of a man who hasn’t planned at all.
