Normalizing TREASON Is A Dumbass Idea

It's a stone cold fact. America has and is normalizing treason. How else to explain the fact that so many elected insurrectionists remain in office. Or the fact that the insurrection's mid-level planners - the Roger Stones, for instance - remain at large and, as far as we can tell, entirely free from investigation by anyone. How to explain the fact that even when Trump was still POTUS, we understood that Russia played directly interfered in election 2016 and likely played a significant role in getting Trump elected.

Long ago, I mentioned to Jen that when talking to dogs, it’s not always the words; it’s more the tone of voice that matters. You can say something completely meaningless - or even awful - to them in a happy voice, and they get all excited.

Jen turned to our dogs, and in an absolutely thrilled sing-song, said “APPLESAUCE ON FRIDAYS!”

The dogs completely lost their minds with joy.

To this day, we still say “APPLESAUCE ON FRIDAYS!” when we are unreasonably excited about something.

Evangelicals believe that EVERYONE must believe what they believe or the magic won't work. That's why they package the magic with so much threat of violence and eternal damnation.

Christianity's sales pitch is this: believe what we're telling you about Jesus (not real Jesus but the Apostle Paul's imagined version of Jesus - Paul never met Jesus in person) - and, like Paul's imagined version of Jesus, you, too, can defeat death and live forever, surrounded by the people you love in a magical place called "heaven".

Paul had zero interest in real Jesus because real Jesus would have contradicted Paul's "I died on a cross for humanity's sins (actually Eve's original sin)" version.

Real Jesus wasn't radical because he said "do unto others". That was a basic, Jewish message (Tikkun Olam) obligating all Jews (all people, really) to make the world a better place for having lived in it. No, what madreal Jesus radical was his insistence that no one needed a corrupt temple or the corrupt temple priests to talk to God.

One could do that directly.

Paul ignored that - and, in fact, contradicted Jesus by creating an institutional church that stood BETWEEN believers and God.

That's why evangelicals start their sales pitch with "Have ya heard the good news?" It's pure Paul and nothing to do with Jesus.
