Sure glad to hear that. Tell me, were you and your colleagues braced for this? Have some prepared for it, the way NARAL and Planned Parenthood immediately came forth with work-arounds for Dobbs? Is there a good site you can recommend where that’s being discussed?

@shoq @kenbod Ever notice how White Males never seem to have found value in nor needed Affirmative Action? There are plenty of hoops for marginalized persons to jump through to get to the same place as White Males, so yeah, they’ve got it wired.

@ProPublica 80-97% of the time when I was member advocate in 1988. Dealt with them on a daily basis. BTW, I won every time.

    @Teri_Kanefield @robhon by denying the govt access to their own property she was inventing a law/rule that flew in the face of established law, did she not? He stole it, but she wasn’t sure they were entitled to retrieve it, and was laying a foundation to stall indefinitely, nullify, or reverse engineer ownership, was she not?

    Drove down from Maine to Boston today.

    Had to pull over three times to remove a tick. And that’s not counting the one that crawled out from under my watch band before I left.

    Maybe I’ll stick to visiting my mother in the winter.

    @nazgul @misc They drop out of overhanging tree branches, (watch out around willows, maples, etc) or the tall grasses near the path. Hell, I think they’ve got tours for ticks that get on tiny buses and drive up to your shoes… or tiny planes and parachute out into your hair… GAHHH! I’m freaking myself out. Had 3 around here this past week. I put meds on the cats that kills them, so if they are bringing them in, they’re bringing zombies, corpses… I’ll leave now. screams into the void

    @misc @nazgul Check everywhere. Behind the ears too. There’s a tick around here that when it bites, it paralyzed. My friend’s pig got bit and she thought it was dead. Pulled the tick off it, and boom, alive again. Same with dogs… they start going stiff… it’s a tick.

    @misc @nazgul get a good tick/flea/wormer med on them to give them a fighting chance. That paralysis thing happens to all the animals those particular toxic ticks bite. It’s rare, but incidents are increasing.

    He bravely hid behind a sofa and unloaded 30 high-velocity rounds at a pool cleaner. Popping off 30 rounds isn’t “standing your ground.”

    “Stand Your Ground” laws are a cover for anyone to be able to shoot at anyone else they feel threatened by, whether or not that’s true, with no consequences. They need to go.

    I flea combed the hell out of kitty at home. No critters, flea dust, nuthin. We get to the vet, and shazam, the little fuckers starting leapin’ off her like MAGA lemmings from a woke ledge, and the hospital-white countertop was peppered with flea dirt. Mystery solved. Moral of the story, $175 later? I gotta up my flea spottin’ game.

    @shoq How old is Kitty? Our young one was given NexGard when he was 8 mos old and it’s like magic: No worms, heart worms, ticks or fleas. Easy to apply. Use it on both cats now.

    NEVER ENTER THE SEA HERE.

    If you get caught in a rip, DON'T FIGHT IT. You can't swim back to shore against it; you will become exhausted and drown.

    Instead, SWIM ACROSS IT, parallel to shore. You'll soon be out of the current and can then easily swim back.

    @Karoli @dancinyogi @marcas I ended up working on a case where a 16 yr old swam out to save a group of 4 people who were caught in a rip… he saved them, but he drowned. He got the Carnegie Medal posthumously. Up by Moss Landing. Weird how that works out, eh?
