I guess it's about time to mention one of the massive projects I'm working on this year. I'm updating Frommer's guidebook for the publication of a 4th edition.

@simonvarwell Ah, thank you. So unexpected and amazing to have weather like that in January. How has it been in Inverness?

Long story, but ended up buying a Vodafone SIM card to use as a hotspot for four days. It has masses of data left (~100gb) which I have no use for. Expires 22 Jan.

Happy to post anywhere in UK to someone who genuinely needs it (do you know a refugee or homeless person who could use it?).

DM me.

@simonvarwell @tomstoneham I'm sorry, I missed this. It wouldn't have worked out in this case I don't think. I'd usually recommend to contact homeless/refugee/food bank charities local to you.

A little morning walk up Borraichill Mòr. I should have been working, but I looked out the window, saw the sun, and ran for the hills.

I've left now, but at some point during the summer I was spending a lot of time with this lake. The shallows were full of tiny fish, then, without any warning, it plummeted deeper than my depth into murky darkness with long tendrils of water weed obscuring where the bottom might have been.

I will have many, many more photos from our week of hiking, but here is Dan on Sveinstindur, which was sort of the 'aim' of our journey.

Really the aim was just the walking itself, but it was a spectacular bonus to see the majority of Iceland from the top.

@simonvarwell thanks Simon. Yes, it was quite amazing.
