We've got this cheap egg cooker that plays the loudest, most terrifying alarm you've ever heard when it's done cooking. My wife requested that I make it "less aggressive" so I hacked it into the most gentle egg cooker of ALL TIME

(warning: probably loud)

Before shot: egg cooker finishing an egg before modification. Jarring alarm goes off, I say "fuck!" After shot: egg cooker finishes. A few moments later, a small mechanical music box next to the cooker starts playing Pachelbel's Canon

Yesterday was Charlie’s 3rd Gotcha Day. He came to us as a foster, 75-lbs of energy/anxiety. He’d tear the curtains off the front door if I went out without him. I lied for weeks and said he’d just be a foster, but when the rescue agency found a home several states away, I couldn’t let him go. He’s my shadow, my best buddy, and the handsomest goodish guy. And he’s grown into a 100-lb bundle of love and goofiness, the self-appointed defender of the house and back yard, my K9❤️.

We are in a years-long fight for our democratic republic and so many have no idea of not only history but what the build up to losing it looks like. Happened before here, we missed it then, too, but not too late stopping. Skin of our teeth stuff. SO MUCH freedom, compared to the rest of the world in general. Makes people understandably complacent.
