Bezos and Musk have it deeply wrong.
The problem isn't that we need a trillion people to have more Einsteins or Mozarts.

The problem is we don't nurture and protect the ones we have.

Stephen Jay Gould wrote: "I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops".

@petergleick @glennf The true delusion is that they think that the metaphorical cream will always rise to the top.

I’m sure it salves their egos that they think they are part of the best humanity has to offer because they got to the top.

Googling “best bicycle seat for old man's butt” is not producing fantastic results. Does have wisdom to impart?

(It’s for an eBike, so shaving off the grams is not that important.)

Yes, “best bicycle saddle for old man's butt” was tried, too.

In 1998, I wrote down my travels in physical journals.
By 2005, I was blogging them instead of writing them
By 2011, I was tweeting them instead of blogging them

In 2024, I'm lucky to have the archive I downloaded from Twitter before I deleted that shit-show. Even still, that is a completely discombobulated hot mess.

My written journals are still tangible and easily accessible (to me.) The rest may have been pissing in the wind.

As soon as products like DayQuil and NyQuil stopped using pseudoephedrine and started using phenylephrine, they stopped being effective for me.

I did suspect that perhaps that I might have been an outlier, but for me it’s always been zip, zilch, nada.

Had a slow leak since install, seemingly fixed now (fingers crossed) since I tightened the stem.

My (late) dad had two “trips of a lifetime” he wanted to complete. In 1975 he and I attempted to drive the Alaskan Highway which starts in B.C., goes through Yukon Territory and into Alaska - almost 1,400 miles. Considering we started driving in Arizona it was an ambitious summer.

Unfortunately a freak insect bite and infection curtailed our progress and ended the trip early, in Washington. He never got to Alaska.

His other dream trip was the Yucatán Peninsula to see the Mayan ruins. (Cont.)

This is the one thing I might be able to place in time that could help me narrow down the date of these photos.

I think this might be a 1990 Trek 800 Antelope. Can anyone confirm? It matches a written description of the livery, but I haven't found a definitive matching photo yet.
