I feel obliged quite frequently to post gentle reminders here that the electorate in the UK isn’t just limited to the Tories (blue red and orange) and that voters in NI, Scotland and Wales have other choices too.

Now it’s been announced ITV will stage a televised debate ahead of the UK General Election featuring only Sunak and Starmer. Their parties don’t even stand in Northern Ireland.

ITV can shove its "debate" up its hoop.

If you live in the UK or USA, you need to understand one thing about the coming election:

You need to vote defensively.

Neither of the main parties are appealing. But if you don't vote for the lesser evil you may end up helping a totalitarian horror get elected.

Hold your nose and goddamn vote, dammit. THEN go on protests. Because if you don't vote for the lesser evil, the victor will welcome your protests with bullets.

The prize for political purity this time round is a shallow grave.

I live in Scotland. As in Northern Ireland and Wales we have options here beyond the Tories (blue and red and orange).

I refuse to be subsumed into the Anglo-British nationalist Greater England when it comes to politics, or anything else for that matter.

The UK isn't just England. When is that going to cut through?
