    Sadly, my maga relative has pushed it at previous get-togethers, like memorials during the height of COVID. Now, we haven't heard from him in months and we have heard he has a big wine tab.

    Most of my family unfriended another relative on social media because we couldn't stand the retweets of the memes. Now, she has early onset dementia and cannot use a computer at all

    Want to write a version of Star Wars where Luke keeps insisting “Darth Vader has evil in him, I can feel it,” and then they cut to Vader force-choking an Ewok and he’s all “so much for the tolerant left” and then there’s a 64 hr news cycle about Luke’s tone & whether it’s appropriate to say “evil.”

    Truly life-affirming to go to a gig with an American band headlining and them praising thanksgiving as a buffer to protect against the onslaught of capitalism even if for a few days.

    Families celebrate Thanksgiving differently than how it started--it's evolved. The real problem is the teaching of the history, mostly propaganda. I'm hopeful, our teachers have done better since the 1950s (basically what they taught our parents and grandparents).

    Of course, some politicians are rallying against history and facts rn ☹️

    I just know what the GenXers learned in Virginia, Texas, and Alabama because I'm an army 'brat'. Heavy on the pilgrims and Native Americans ate a meal together and were buddies.

    Only my oldest child, similarly, played dress-up as pilgrims because her teacher was almost retirement age (2001)

    Now my four young adult GenZers all have Friendsgivings before our family Thanksgiving which may be even better evolution of the original idea

If the people rule, it’s going to be Republican people only.” Voters, Donald Trump is crazy, out of his mind. His slide into madness is visible and grows day by day. Do you really trust this guy not to incite violence again if he is elected? The man who instigated an actual coup attempt? I urge the voters to stop flirting with disaster and re-elect Joe Biden in 2024. Biden will not harm those who disagree.

    Thanks for pointing this out. Us Americans think our gov't is so unique and we don't have much knowledge of European countries, in general.

    Plus, the extreme right has demonized European govt's as evil "socialists" for more than 70 years. They've made it a scary, misunderstood term.)

    Isn't it interesting that we worry about being politically incorrect, not being accurate, embarrassing ourselves, or getting harassed by trolls. We have high standards. See self-censuring, arguing amongst ourselves

    But the other side just pulls out all kind of 💩 and just throws it on the wall to see what sticks. The really good 💩 that makes people angry and scared 'wins' and gets put on blast? Heck, they have classes and email distributions for their 💩 messaging
