@Pagan_Animist I have one and love it EXCEPT I can only add one external screen; it really bogs down when I have lots of browser tabs open…to the point I have to close everything and restart it; and google drive sometimes does weird things, especially in sheets.
I would love to see more accounts about #Compost on the fediverse.
Compost is a fantastic tool that can help us balance the #ClimateChange. The more we talk about it, the more we can inspire people to start this wonderful habit.
Our habits make us, and talking about positive habits is a good thing in the toxic environment social media can be.
I would be honored if we had a community of accounts that talk about it, and you can be sure that you will be boosted, and followed and not feel like #Mastodon is a void.
I can’t tell you how happy I am to get texts like these from friends. I’m so optimistic about the future of the #fediverse and always excited to talk about it.
The fediverse is still a tricky concept to explain though. I’d love to hear how you like to describe this gestures wildly at ActivityPub/Federation/Mastodon/Threads/AT Protocol/PeerTube to a friend.
@docpop My go to is: Ad free. Community funded. No algorithms. Open source software. Over 20,000 servers. Sometimes managed by one person, sometimes by many. Each has its own rules. Some have themes like art, politics, literature. Some have a few users, some have hundreds of thousands. Close to 14M users total. All can be connected via the fediverse. Some have created functionality that allows connections to other platforms, like Threads, or that is similar to other platforms, like Youtube.
People trying to train AIs are now complaining that all of the AI data on the internet are making it hard for them to get quality training sets of natural language and images.
@futurebird It seems like more people in AI high places should have foreseen the problem. I know many of us down here with the plebes thought it would have an impact.
I felt very bad because I couldn’t *make myself go to the nursing home yesterday.
I’m exhausted, still. Yet. Again.
Energy limiting Chronic illnesses are a REAL bitch.
I had appointments every day last week, plus going to see Al.
This week only one.
Next week, five days, five appointments.
These are all medically necessary or I wouldn’t be stretching myself past the limit.
My guilt caused me to arrange delivery from a great restaurant in Bellefonte. $75 worth of guilt.
He will love it.
Uh-oh. Devout Christians on my FB page are PISSED that Trump is selling bibles. This is their straw. It will be fascinating to watch if its the straw that brings his run down. #bible#trumpbible
Here’s a sample:
“As a follower of Jesus I am both disgusted and offended that any politician would sell the Word of God to raise money!!!! How about it my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ? Enough is enough 😡”
@JonChevreau I wish I could answer those questions. Many have quoted Mathew 21: 12-13: “Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, “It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves. '” As though this act has tipped Trump into a place of transgression that his other actions did not.
@GottaLaff It would be a joyous day if a few Republicans decided to help elect Hakeem Jeffries. Maybe a few who have announced they are leaving rather than stay and fight for their party will do it.
The funniest thing about Donald Trump is that he is so routinely honest in public—“I will be a dictator,” “there will be violence if I lose”—and yet the majority of people are so concerned about decorum, so terrified of appearing to overreact, that the American political system just plods along as if he hadn’t said what he said.
@HeavenlyPossum And among those I know who discount these statements, there are many who say 1. He’s just exaggerating and doesn’t mean any of it; 2. He’s just saying out loud what others say behind closed doors, so why hold it against him; 3. No, it doesn’t matter that it’s all written down in the Project 2025 document because no one is going to allow any of that to happen.
