sit rep, it's raceday 1 and the MG has completed its first stint

There is a chance it might be burning oil but after evaluation it's not enough to be a concern

If all goes according to plan I'll be running my 1.5 hour stint in the next hour, get hype

Driving a 50 ish horse power car with a grid of 90 other faster cars on a 1.8 mile track is like some new genre of survival horror

Regardless my driving was on point, I was up to 10th place in C class when I exited the car

Last I checked we're 12th in C class dropping 2 spots because of an unplanned stop to give the car an extra sip of oil

Oil drain plug is magnetic and has a metric ton of metal shavings on it

The engine and trans share oil on this car so it's possible tran shavings infected the oil in the engine's crank

Either way kinda looking like a R.I.P

Reading people's layoff notes the last few days, I would like to share some reminders:

  1. Work will never love you back.

  2. "It isn't personal." Ignore people who say that. Your salary, your sense of purpose and work integrity are personal, and when they are taken away without warning, it affects you personally, even if the decision to cut your position was only about money.

  3. Thinking about your emotions through a job loss as grieving can be helpful.
