I RARELY say this, but this is a case for "pirate it" if you got screwed. If I ever do this with my games, providing no alternative for players who purchased it, feel free to pirate it!

Back in December 2023, Ubisoft announced it would power off the servers for its racing title, The Crew, and as of April 1st, 2024, the game would go offline. Of course, this caused a massive uproar from those who paid for the game since this would make the game unplayable without those servers. But things have taken another turn for the worse, as Ubisoft has taken things a step further and started removing the game from people’s Ubisoft Connect accounts. I’m not making this nonsense up. I wouldn’t have even noticed if I hadn’t logged into Ubisoft Connect because I wanted to log back into The Division 2. It’s not like Ubisoft had told us it was going to do this.

In hotels I often make up my name, adress and birthdate when they ask for it. Because I don’t trust their IT security.
Some people laugh at me for that - they think it's paranoia. But a few days ago 6 TB of data from the big European hotel chain was leaked by a ransomware group - including millions of customer names and dates. So maybe it’s not paranoia not to give your real data to hotels. (The same counts for online shops, gyms and many other institutions of course)

@cg @nblr @miracula I ended up storing my "birth dates" in password manager. Quite a suitable choice considering how many institution still use it as an access grant

@SuitedUpDev I have seen this very often (too often) unfortunately, usually happens when some "legacy" XML APIs have to be replaced by a "fancy" JSON / API, because "the market demands it"...

@tagesschau Achtet auf eure Formulierung! Die AfD erreicht keine "Bestwerte" sondern Höchstwerte. Die Anzahl an Kriegstoten erreicht ja auch keine "Bestwerte", oder? Die AfD hat sich auch in keinster Weise verbessert, sondern ist genauso schlimm wie eh und je (mindestens)

Update: https://social.veltens.org/@angelo/110643298577042397 Now all t.co links are blocked by twitter login. All we ever shared via twitter can not be followed anymore without signing in to twitter, no matter where in the they point to. Twitter put a gate in front of our links by "shortening" them and now they locked the gate. We never should have given them such power.

Someone should scrape all t.co links and build.up a database with the original links, or we will lose all of it eventually. Even the archives twitter gave us only contain those broken t.co links

Ok, false alert, sorry! After double checking actually most t.co links are working and also the archive contains a field "expanded_url" with the full URL! So the situation is much better than I initially thought.
