So that ‘Crush’ iPad ad… when I first saw it during the event, quite disliked it. I didn't understand how anyone at Apple thought it was a good idea.

It seems people are upset about the overall idea undermining the work of creatives which is valid of course, but I personally didn’t like it at all because I just thought it was such a waste of all that stuff. Just felt super distasteful.

Feels like one of those things they fully had blinders on for.

Well, another night of hell as I got hit with another kidney stone.
Hardly slept 3 hours in intervals of 20-30 minutes, otherwise I was writhing in pain.
Luckily the doctor was able to get here today, and he thinks that the worst is probably over.
Got another stack of medication as well. And that during my week off from work...
So I'm going take it really slow for the rest of the week and hope tonight will be better.

One thing that cheered me up is my super cheap copy of Atelier Ryza 2 on PS5.

1996 indie pop/rock album from Jönköping, Sweden. A fairly strong lounge influence and lyrics that darkly contrast the upbeat music make this a pretty interesting album. "Lovefool" is the big hit, and "Step On Me" is also plenty popular, but the album's got plenty of other good ones, including a great Black Sabbath cover.

My wife and I woke up to the great news that our son got into the school we wanted. It was the only one we applied to considering it’s on our doorstep and we can see from our house!

It’s a primary/middle/secondary combined school so we’ll never have to worry about applying to another school again!

We’re very happy! 😁

I’ve started testing out alternatives to #Spotify as they’re putting their prices up yet again! £20pm for Family plan now. 🙄

I’ve started with #AppleMusic as I had a 2-month free trial, but the Windows app is trash. It keeps telling me playback has stopped on another device. It wasn’t playing on another device in the first place. Also songs just randomly stops playing or starts from the beginning again. 🤦‍♂️

Might try #Tidal and #YouTubeMusic next.

Anyone got any recommendations?

I guess I need an inspiring idea if I want to create that monster-collector prototype.

I just can't get excited for the generic-ass setting I came up with, even if the mechanics should be new and fun.

I need an idea that a) lets players collect and merge monsters, b) makes me go 'wow, interesting'.

My boiling rivers setting was a great example. The prototype showed that the game faced nearly insurmountable technical challenges (for a team of one) but the idea - wow, fun!

Now that I've got some playtime in, a #ROGAlly update:

• Still shocked at how light it is. After using a Steam Deck and Ayaneo Next, this feels like a DS.
  -The screen and 120Hz refresh look so goooood. Did some Minecraft with Gamer Kid yesterday, and my jaw dropped.
• I wished I loved anything as much as the Ally loves updates.
• Running into some weird hardware cruft based on game channel. Tried three games via itch, and they all had controls issues. Portal: Revolution from Steam plays ~okay.
