Played the first round of #MarioKart 7 online on the #3ds against somebody from Hungary...with #Pretendo.
I'm still amazed at all the work that's been done. It went flawlessly. 🤩
Sadly, I'm still having trouble with Mario Maker on 3ds. The compatibility chart shows that replacements for online features should mostly work, but so far I'm always seeing errors when I try to connect. 🤔
My daughter bought me a new pin. She's been home on spring break and made a tidy sum doing work around the house. Cleaning blinds, painting trim/molding and a variety of other tasks. She went shopping and bought her mom and I both something with her "hard earned cash". Her words 😁
Someone asked why we don't see any popular video games being made for WebGL, and it got me thinking that I need to make a video game with webGL or webGPU.
It should be something simple so I can get it done before losing interest. It should take advantage of the platform; multiplayer, or fast casual pick up and play for example. Bonus points if it's fun to play.
Word to the wise: Never play a game you love with a #nerd. They will have optimized the game to the point that all of your favorite characters and strategies are complete garbage, and the only way to win is to break your thumbs on the controller, or prevent your opponent from playing at all. Fun was never an option.
We were in the second take off of the #MarioKart ride which means that I, for at least a brief time, have the current high score of the day on the ride! Naturally, we're going again so I can see if I can beat that score!

I loved playing MK64 on my N64, but never got my hands on Super Mario Kart back in the days. Now as an adult I experience this game as extremely hard to master. 😖

My partner and I played #MarioPartySuperstars for the first time and IT’S SO FUN and definitely worth every penny, honestly. Super happy to finally have another local multiplayer #game worth playing other than #MarioKart lol. On the #Disney side of things, and also speaking of Mario Kart, I tried #DisneySpeedstorm and honestly, for a “free to play” #racing game, it’s pretty good and definitely the closest “competition” to Mario Kart. I’ve purchased the other #Sonic games just bcos I want a Mario Kart that isn’t #Nintendo but they’re all honestly garbage - Speedstorm tho has the potential. My final judgement of the game will ultimately boil down to figuring out how easy (or not) it is to unlock the Local Multiplayer feature without spending a dime cos atm, that mode’s still locked.
Please share a moment of sympathy for the worker who carefully set up this Mario kart display, put everything in line, and made it look great... Then they turned it on and saw it spin backwards.
