I’ve had a lot of questions about Reddit’s planned AMA today and “What if they…”, so I added a section to the bottom of my post to answer that and thought I’d share it here too.
I just released a really important Apollo update that adds the ability for users with remaining subscription time left to decline an automatic refund. Devs pay refunds out of pocket, and this will be about $250K, so I thank you for your consideration. ❤️
Also, this update includes an amazing "Goodbye Apollo Wallpaper Set” for your phone, tablet, or desktop, created by outrageously talented Apollo icon designers. You can unlock the pack with a donation that helps with refund costs. 🙂
@christianselig thanks for making #reddit usable with #apolloapp ❤️ I’m sad to see it go but looking forward to what comes next. When people/companies show you what they are, believe them.
Ok, I take this as proof that I live in a simulation and my instance is currently experience a kernel panic.
There is simply no other explanation for everything that has happened in the last couple of years AND Elon Musks complete meltdown being considered as a prime example of great business strategies and transformation. That's just the cherry on top.
@christianselig I don’t know how portable the Apollo source code is, but I would give my left and right kidneys (and at least $30 a year) to have an Apollo for Lemmy app. Right now the biggest wall to adoption for Lemmy is bad app support, and if Apollo got in now, it could become the defacto reader for Lemmy on iOS.
Well, looks like Reddit pulled the plug a little early. Apollo started crashing, but I just manually revoked my token and it looks like it fixes the crashing, but no more Reddit access haha. Those folks are fun to the very end! 😛
@christianselig I keep reflexively clicking the Apollo icon and getting sad all over again. Thanks for the amazing app and I wish you all the best with your next endeavors.
YouTube wouldn't build an app for the Apple Vision Pro, so I did! Introducing Juno, an Apple Vision Pro app for YouTube, now available at http://juno.vision 📺🥽
And here's a quick overview video showing it in action. I'm looking forward to trying it on an actual device tomorrow, I really feel like Apple Vision Pro is going to make such an amazing YouTube experience 🥳
@christianselig I wish my laptop had this. My cat is like, "oh, you're doing something important? Well, how about I edit it with my paws, seal it with my butthole of approval, and have the audacity to look adorable so you don't get angry with me?".
I released the final update to Apollo for Reddit! 🥹 It tidies up things for the closure later today, adds some really cool easter eggs, and lets you migrate your pixel pals from Apollo to the separate Pixel Pals app, which also unlocks an Apollo Pixel Pal so he can live on ❤️
@christianselig Thank you for keeping us updated here on Mastadon. Especially with twitter locking everything behind a sign-in wall today. Happily donated :)
