Back on the road to California. That means 📱connection is spotty, can’t often reply, but I try to read all replies & post news alerts.

I say this every time: Returning to US from 🇨🇦 is culture shock, meaning being confronted by Trump/religious signs, banners, billboards. It’s stomach churning.

It’ll be a relief to move permanently in late May.

Yes, Doomers, 🇨🇦 has its issues. So does every country in the world. But 🇨🇦 currently feels safer.

Holy crap!

I had no idea how sub-par so-called "high-speed internet is in the USA. We just got hooked up to the Orange fiber here in Chenu, (rural France) and I'm getting 560mb down and 220 up for 52€ / mo.

Back in the SF Bay Area, we have what's considered very fast fiber thru Sonic, (who piggybacks on ATT's fiber). 60mb up and down on a good day. $77/mo

That's almost 10 TIMES FASTER FOR LESS MONEY!

And spare me your horror stories about Comcast. After years of getting gouged by those f*ckers, it took months to fire them. At least Sonic is a great company to deal with.

But wow! Fattest pipes I've ever had! Whoo hoo!

Good luck on the house hunt! And don’t count on the realtor pix, we looked at eight places here in Sarthe, and were so excited about some that turned out to be duds. We almost passed on viewing the one we bought based on the photos, until we walked in and were like: This is it!
