Yah, very much an externalities gambit. What is so very weird is watching the followers doing the dirty work and taking the risks, often KNOWING that this is the deal, and that for no reward for taking the risk, they are placing themselves at peril for someone who will disown and deny them the instant the risk turns into a reality.

Not sure what "credible speculation" means, other than just speculation.

Someone nodding off in a courtroom might do so for a wide range of reasons, including obvious and common things like insomnia.
You cannot fit this to dementia without an actual encounter with a medical professional with the appropriate specialization.

Every now and then I hear conversations from outside of here about "the state of social media" and let me tell you: People are suffering. People are miserable. Many people feel addicted to social media but unable to have positive and valuable interactions in the space. Mostly, in the profit-driven social media space negative emotional reactions glue eyeballs as well as positive, so a heap of the experiences is just ... unpleasant.

Meanwhile around here things are different.

Interesting insights, thanks.

I see far fewer edgelords, replyguys, and flamers here, and far more trans people than on BirdChan, which is great. It has a calmer vibe, and more meaningful and valuable exchanges from what I have experienced.

On the downside, I lost a ton clinicians when I moved, which is a shame, and I really miss the gay toxicologists who often helped me with my short stories, and sometimes made cameo appearances in stories.

WhatsUp with refusing to comply with lawful ? Ever since brought his fat ass down the escalator, refusing to comply with subpoenas has become the default response. This petulant refusal to be held to account is pissing in the face of every American. We have a system of checks and balances that Republicans are committed to destroying.

It would also not be a very healthy idea to grind USED cat litter in that manner, because y'know toxoplasmosis, and whatnot. It is even more ill-advised to grind up rodent poop and drop it down a billionaires ventilation system. So definitely don't DO THAT

The humor of my day just gets better!

I met the construction foreman outside right after I'd showered. No makeup. Hair in a pile. Wearing sweats and glasses.

2 hours later he knocks on the door to ask a question. I appear dressed for work. Makeup on. Hair down, no glasses...

He looks at me strangely, "Hi, um, I was talking to the other lady about trimming back some bushes. Can you ask her if that's still ok?"

Poor guy was so embarrassed when I had to tell him I was, in fact, the same "lady."

My MIL used to fall asleep while watching Midsomer Murders, and then I would wait with glee for when she woke up during a different episode. I could see her trying to put the plot together in her head.

Reading Amy J. Ko's online book "Cooperative Software Development" and she writes:

"There are some approaches to specifying requirements formally. These techniques allow requirements engineers to automatically identify conflicting requirements, so they don’t end up proposing a design that can’t possibly exist. Some even use systems to make requirements traceable, meaning the high level requirement can be linked directly to the code that meets that requirement."

I have seen it done, but it is a huge effort and many just give up - especially because the shift to agile meant that requirements changed and crept a lot over the course of the project.

What it amounted to was a requirements register, and each requirement was given a register # and then was included in the progress reports. So in theory, everyone in a dev team knew which requirement their work was for and completion % was reflected in a requirements dashboard.
