It might be obvious and old news, but on my rare logins to I saw a new message of their privacy policy to be updated this month: Every content from every post will be used to train their AI.

If you are a visual artist of any kind and use the platform, will use your creation against you, literally. You either learn how to publish and own your data, or you’ll be stolen.

@clerton I tried #pixelfed but there’s no global federated feed like we have on mastodon. So you start with an empty feed which is boring if you want to attract your friends.

@kev we don’t need a digital currency per se. We need a currency not issued by governments. It wasn’t always like this nor does it need to stay this way forever. Most of inflation comes from uncontrollable emissions of money by governments, and without getting rid of the government in this scheme it will never change. Read this book to understand why we actually need new forms of currency:

@olav @kev this is just the mechanism, the how of the emission. And the commercial banks borrow this money from the central bank. That’s how new money is created.

@olav @kev the problem is that the central bank can lend any amount of money to the commercial bank, thus creating inflation. According to Hayek if a private emitter would act like that he would lose reputation and its money would become unusable.

people: Is there an easy way to customise org-capture (and perhaps org-agenda) to just use the same window and leave my window management alone?

I’m knee-deep into stack overflow posts and wasting way too much time here. This is one of my most longstanding annoyances of

(This is actually one of the reasons does not use org-capture for new notes.)
