I'm obsessed with JWST's series of photos of spiral galaxies. These are helping scientists understand more about these galaxies' origins, evolution, and structure.

Mars Ingenuity was designed to make 5 short flights over 30 days. Instead it made 72 flights over three years on the red planet. Now it's time to say goodbye to the little helicopter that could.

Hubble's latest project? Capturing photos of galaxy collisions, and I have a breakdown of the first two stunning pictures.

The second one is especially cool, for its lesson in perspectives!

Scientists have found a mystery object in space, and they’re not quite sure if it’s a heavy neutron star or a light black hole:

For what it’s worth, the Deep Space Network is currently showing a downlink from the SLIM rover

Press conference: SLIM has been communicating with Earth and is recieving commands accurately. The spacecraft is responding in a normal way. However, the solar cell is not generating electricity at this point in time. Currently using battery power.

Tomorrow, watch Japan's attempt to land their SLIM spacecraft on the moon! The livestream link is below, and the landing will be at approximately 10:20 am ET on Friday, January 19. If they succeed, they will be the fifth country (U.S., Soviet Union, China, India) to accomplish this feat!

Happy book birthday to OUR MOON: HOW EARTH’S CELESTIAL COMPANION TRANSFORMED THE PLANET, GUIDED EVOLUTION, AND MADE US WHO WE ARE by the amazing Rebecca Boyle, who I am so lucky to call a friend. This is one of my most anticipated books of the year, and I can’t wait to dive into this incredible book.

I’m really excited to be working on a series of profiles of women in science for Wired , and the first one is up.

Beauty science is underrated, and I so appreciate Michelle Wong's beauty science breakdowns, mythbusting, and sunscreen recommendations. Scicomm on social media is hard and she does it SO WELL:
