    @jon I was at a bachelor party in the Netherlands more than a decade ago. It was pretty wild with lots to drink over several days - throughout the days.

    On my way back to the airport, by train, I needed to visit the bathroom rather urgently. Still very drunk I was completely unable to figure out how to lock the door.

    ... to the horror of other people who also wanted to visit the bathroom.

    I can well understand an automated "thank you!" to those who do manage to lock doors after that.

    @cisene tl;dr: Bokio bytte bankpartner till SVEA och förbättrade vissa saker (riktigt bankkonto) men försämrade annat (inget Swish-stöd eller internationella betalningar) vilket kunder använde.

    Alla var tvingade att acceptera innan 1:e september annars blev man av med bankmöjligheterna i Bokio.

    Detta kommunicerades i god tid och inga andra förändringar förvarnades om.

    Idag 1:e september publicerar Bokio att de höjer priserna med 50% samt att de helt plockar bort den fria planen (utan banktjänster) för de som enbart behövt bokföring. Bokio har sedan starten haft "gratis för alltid" på hemsidan och i sin marknadsföring, så massor med ideella föreningar m.m använder det.

    Förändringen träder i kraft om en månad. Då höjs priserna resp. de som förlitat sig på gratisvarianten slängs ut.

    @cisene Japp. Byta bokföring på en månad är i princip omöjligt - vilket Bokio självklart vet och det är därför de glatt kommunicerade ut det nya bankkontots fördelar med gamla prisplanen fram tills exakt dagen efter alla var tvingade att byta.

    Nåja, du har helt rätt ang. vad resultatet blir. Någonstans finns det en annan aktör som kommer att få se ett enormt kundinflöde nu.

    Use Firefox or Safari, they have proper end-to-end encryption (browser maker can’t read the data) of bookmarks and other private and personal browsing information (like your passwords!).

    I can’t stress enough just how ridiculous it is that most of you just hand Google your passwords to everything from your bank accounts to porn sites.

    @thomasfuchs I'm slightly disappointed it seems very cumbersome to set up my own Mozilla Sync instance. Everything seems to be there, just nut put together in a reasonably installable way.

    @selea @nextcloud It shocked me when I dropped Seafile in favor of Nextcloud a few months back to see that this wasn't a standard feature.

    Using Webdavfs at the moment to achieve something similar, but that's not for the regular user to set up.

    As a tech enthusiast I'm on my way to buy my first iPhone ever. Before doing this I have two questions.

    1. Which iPhone is the best and why? (if you have all the money in the world, what model would you choose now?)

    2. What are the things you DON'T like in your iPhone and how are you coping with them?

    Please answer only if you prefer iPhone, I don't need "don't buy an iPhone" or "Device X is better" -replies. I've been using two decades other mobile devices so I kinda know the differences.

    @rolle I previously worked for Sony (Ericsson -> Mobile -> Corp) and used Android from the very beginning until 2018 when I switched to another employer. I've used iPhone since - and the only thing I missed was being able to automatically record my calls. However, afaik that's no longer possible on Android either I think so now that might be moot.

    Wow, Matrix is not the most straightforward to install when compared to Mastodon. Tutorials and docs are all over the place. I have now managed to install and run Matrix, Matrix synapse admin and Element, but still need to figure out how to enable federation and S3. Well, gotta have hobbies...

    @rolle I did go for Dendrite rather than Synapse but I can't say I have the same experience. It was "just" a regular docker bringup.

    Testing @sengi_app devel branch with multi-language support. This might definitely become my new prefered desktop client since I can have several accounts seamlessly displayed at once.

    Missing the @rolle Bird UI treatment though. Hmm.

    @sengi_app @troed Working perfectly fine so far! I cloned the repo and built the docker image from the develop branch. Using it towards my two accounts and with English & Swedish language settings :D

    During my one year activity on the I've now seen at least four instance admins quitting from being an admin or shutting down their server. Half of these cases were admins being dickheads and the rest of them were mostly about users being dickheads leading admin getting burned out.

    Both outcomes are unfortunate, but the latter makes me sad. Why do we have to harass and doxx an admin here for such pseudetical reasons like extensive open text search feature? I don't get humans sometimes.

    I repeat: We are not free from toxicity on the Fediverse. Be kind. Make a chance.

    @Free_Press That was at the same time as Sahara was a green steppe. Those changes to the region really have nothing to do with the human caused climate change. This is just populist stuff causing people to reject the realities of AGW.
