I saw many of their DeepMind colleagues clapping like seals during Tesla's "AI Days" - farcical events that presented zero safety cases.

@adamjcook Excuse my ignorance but what's the connection with Chris Anderson to this? In the sense of, why is it looked at negatively that he signed this? I get the others, but I know Chris only from the TED conferences, which I enjoy (even if I don't agree with the viewpoint of all the talks I see).
@PeceK As but one example, I can recall a Chris Anderson interview with #Musk that occurred not too long ago where Chris was effusive towards #Tesla's #FSDBeta program - a program that utilizes #AIHype to mask the underlying dangerousness of Tesla's conduct.
That should resonate here.

@PeceK All of this said, while the few names I highlighted do not seem to have the "technical chops" at understanding these technologies... almost every single signatory to these various letters stayed silent (or applauded) while:
#Musk and Andrej #Karpathy were engaged in these wrongdoings; and/or
While Musk sent his cult to attack Professor Missy Cummings, a top #SystemsSafety researcher, who first raised these issues years ago.
