@paulox I don't mean to change the subject but have you spent anytime playing with some of the Indie Web features too? This is going to be on my radar sooner then later.
@webology@paulox if you think it’s close enough of a subject we’d be interested to hear more about that too! We’re working on new project templates currently, so even something like specific microformats or webring support could be quite a quick win.
@wagtail its a great idea as it would make potentially any django / wagtail installation a first class citizen of the fediverse, expanding functionality in various novel ways
There are already several django based activitypub servers (I am aware of #funkwhale, #takahẽ , #socialhome) and related #python projects (#bovine, #piefed) but it seems there is zero code re-use among them.
@phiofx@paulox oh interesting, that’s a lot of options already. So Wagtail support efforts would probably be best spent on integrating one of those with CMS features, rather than re-implementing ActivityPub?
@wagtail@paulox lots of options indeed. Picking the brains of the maintainers of these projects probably advisable as a production ready activitypub implementation (that would federate properly e.g. with opinionated mastodon servers) seems to be a decent can of worms :-)
@phiofx@paulox@andrew@cda@alain Do you mind expanding on the "opinionated" side of things? We don’t have much ActivityPub expertise currently so even just a reference to an appropriate resource would help a lot.
