Yesterday we realized that we had a day free of family obligations, so we took the day to wander around Grand Rapids, and magically, we happened upon the Meyer May House, built by Frank Lloyd Wright, right when they were starting a private tour, and we got invited to come along!
Wright's attention to detail creates a sense of serenity. Just being in that house put me at ease.
@jonobie Found out yesterday that Wright actually designed his houses based on the height of the humans who would be occupying the house! Mr. May was 5'5" so you can imagine how short the ceilings were! But somehow - it felt spacious, too. And yes - I've heard stories about and from his students. Seems like there was definitely a narcissistic edge to Wright.
