I love how indignant Ken Jennings can get when #Jeopardy plays host to less than stellar contestants. Like you can practically hear him mutter “How’d you make it on here anyway?” under his breath. 😂
@gedeonm Are they back to new contestants now? After the ToC when they went to ANOTHER round of tournaments before the uber ToC I gave up, and am now 58 episodes behind according to my TiVo, and that doesn't include the uber ToC which was actually a different tournament of 10.
Der krönende Abschluss der FOSSGIS 2024 – die #FOSSGIS-Jeopardy! 👑
Jedes Jahr organisiert unser Kollege @cartocalypse die FOSSGIS-Jeopardy, welche jedes Jahr aufs Neue das GIS-Wissen der Teilnehmer*innen auf die Probe stellt. 🧠
So since they always call having less than $0 "in the hole" on #Jeopardy I think those contestants should be literally lowered into a hole as their score goes down. Each would stand on a platform that lowers incrementally as soon as they get below zero, so at -$500 you're in up to your knees, at -$1500 only your head is showing, etc, until you disappear at -$2000. Let's do this
Btw before you suggest raising the platform as scores go up, we've workshopped that already and there are considerable practical impediments in implementation. Taken to its conclusion the idea would radically increase jeopardy's admirably low contestant fatality rate
@davemark knowing Mayim Bialik my first thought was as a host though I. Not sure how that’d work. As a contestant would be interested to compare with Watson, which could be quite interesting.
