@blackmastodon Hey family. I've been ragging on my friends who allow Google, Apple, and Facebook (!) to curate their news. And then they complain when I raise news stories they haven't seen. 🙄 Can you all share a very simple way they can create their own list of news sources. It has to be simple. They all have advanced degrees but are still on Facebook (!) and still use Amazon because it's "too"convenient. I need something they can do in 5 minutes or less.

@fulanigirl @markmetz @blackmastodon If they won't escape Facebook or Instagram for news or anything really, it's a doomed cause. Same for those who can't turn away from cable news. They don't want independent or balanced news. That's too hard.

I learned to ask early for sources when a discussion when off the rails. If the source was social media or cable news I'd drop out. That too is too much work.

@realn2s @SocraticEthics @protonmail Suggesting that protonmail has been compromised without a clear reference is troubling.You don't really know who the bad guys are without more information. That's why I ask for the article.

I agree it's not an easy target. If I were to guess, I say FSB would rather sow misinformation and distrust so people believe that privacy is futile. That's easier than hacking.

@DavidBHimself @ottaross In early days, binge watching was amazing. Like plowing through a novel. But after a while, the excitement and urgency faded. Now, I'm inclined to slow it down or take a break between seasons.

I support the WGA strike.

She and similar talk hosts seem to be in a tough spot. Support the strike and risk losing the show entirely and put everyone out of work or go to work, still staying within the strike rules and hope the public understands the difficult choices or the strike ends soon.

    When setting a timer with or , on your , , or Google device, there is no need to use the phrase “set a timer for…” Just invoke your digital assistant and tell it the number of minutes or seconds you want:

    “Hey Siri, 2 minutes,” or just hold down the side button on your and say “two minutes.”

    The same applies to Assistant. “Hey Google, 30 seconds.”

    @itnewsbot Holy smokes! I was so excited to set up my new mesh routers on Tuesday. And it was so quick. On Wednesday morning, I woke up to blinking lights everywhere. Today, I was celebrating that they've been up 1 day and 10 hours.
