@nixCraft - I have used vi for over 40 years, and vim is usually the first thing that gets installed on any new computer I use.

Bram was not just the lead for vim development, he also moved forward the idea of multiple scripting language support in the editor.

On top of that, he was a first class philanthropist that didn't just throw money at a problem, he was on the ground making sure that our contributions to his fund got right where they were needed.

The world has lost a bright light.
