They care about it in the context of everything else happening, like the abortion bans and the don't say gay laws. Sure, they only apply to their respective states too but that ends up being a big chunk of the US.

Several US states are actually more lenient than most EU member states when it comes to how late you can terminate a pregnancy. Pennsylvania, for example, allows abortions up to the 23rd week. Ohio allows it up to 21 weeks. Germany, on the other hand, only allows them up to 12 weeks.
