I didn't even find a news item that mentioned the new account on the website, so that account appears fake when trying to research it.

This is cool, but does anyone know why so many of these organizations are using newsie.social instead of creating their own servers? It would eliminate this problem of being platformed with fascists.
@jarjarbrinksmanship for smaller orgs I think it’s just an issue of capacity, for larger ones it may be an issue of lack of knowledge. Hopefully we’ll get there eventually. I think fedi could use more guides/services that make it easy to do so
They play their cards well, I think. Solid background news (world) from a public broadcaster.
Hard for a news org to get it right on Fedi. Many have formed their style on twitter, where it's all about creating self-perpetuating attention cycles.
Orgs like DW seem to make a real effort at doing it differently here. More reserved, providing entry points into more extensive news material elsewhere. Allowing the reader to pick it up or to leave it.
