Gaza: According to our colleagues working in Al-Shifa hospital, the hospital will soon run out of fuel and thus electricity. This means that all the patients who are today in intensive care units or connected to ventilators, and the babies who are in incubators, will die due to the lack of electricity.

It is critical that fuel be allowed into Gaza, as this is essential for lifesaving hospital operations as well as the availability of clean water.

After powerful earthquakes struck southeast Türkiye, causing immense devastation. We responded immediately, supporting local NGOs to provide crucial mental health, water, sanitation, and hygiene assistance to the affected population.

We focused on psychosocial support, water, sanitation, hygiene, and non-food items. Essential items like food, hygiene kits, tents, and other materials were distributed to those in need.

We also supported the establishment of a field hospital. #TurkeyEarthquake

Our staff and patients are facing the trauma of armed groups looting our facilities. Medicines, supplies and vehicles have been stolen.

We call on all warring parties to ensure the safety of medical personnel and health facilities, to allow safe passage of ambulances and people seeking healthcare, and to facilitate access and rapid and unimpeded movement for humanitarian workers, organisations and supplies.

Our teams on the ground in Rakhine are still identifying the extent of the damage from #CycloneMocha & undergoing rapid needs assessments. Many MSF mobile clinics, which vulnerable communities relied on for essential healthcare, have suffered extensive damage following the storm.

On May 5, the Fuego volcano erupted in #Guatemala. On the same day, more than 1,000 people were evacuated from surrounding communities. In response to a call from the authorities, MSF arrived in Santa Lucía Cotzumalguapa, Escuintla, to provide support to some 400 evacuees.

At the emergency shelter, our team provided more than 80 medical consultations to children and older adults, as well as psychological first aid, especially to children and women.

MSF HAS NOT LEFT AND DOES NOT PLAN TO LEAVE SUDAN

Media have misquoted MSF saying that "MSF has suspended almost the totality of its work in Sudan". That is not correct.

Supported facilities continue to provide medical care in El Fasher, North Darfur, in Kreinik, West Darfur, in Rokero and Zalingei, Central Darfur, in Um Rakuba and Tinedba, El-Gedaref state, in Ad-Damazin, Blue Nile State and Al-Jazeera state.

We continue to work on scaling up our response.
