It's jarring to hear a sincere statement without sarcasm or irony on social media, but it actually feels true.
The fools and trolls flitter away fast—not enough nourishment for their appetites—and I am left with people who like to share interesting or important things they either found out or had already known.
One of the signs of success is that you don't care what people say about you.

Today, while my feet were being plastered up for orthotic inserts, I explained how all "THIS" works to the specialist. By the end, he asked me to write down info so he try "THIS" out for himself.
Sometimes I think we need a pamphlet explaining how all "THIS" works to others ...
but without looking like we're some kind of cult!! 🤣
@RickiTarr Well, I'm sort of grown up. At least I've reached an age where being old means you're perceived as being wise, just for the fact that you've survived long enough..

@stephanie@dan613 I was already annoyed by the reply, because frankly people can block whoever they want, including me, if I'm not making their timeline what they like, but yeah most of the time these people definitely were blocked for a reason

I WANT TO AGREE WHOLE-HEARTEDLY, I DO, BUT I HAVE A VENTRICLE OF RESERVATION ABOUT SIGNING ON.
I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH HOW UNWELCOMING MASTODON HAS BEEN TO THE BLACK COMMUNITY. THE COMPLAINTS HAVE STAYED THE SAME SINCE I GOT HERE, AND IT HAS NOT IMPROVED. MANY, MANY ACCOUNTS THAT I HAVE FOLLOWED AND ENJOYED HAVE FALLEN AWAY BECAUSE THIS PLACE CAN BE SO INHOSPITABLE. IT FEELS LIKE ABSTRACT AND COLD COASTAL CITY, "I'LL LIKE ANYONE WHO CAN AFFORD TO LIVE HERE" RACISM, NOT THE MORE NUANCED AND LIVED-IN, SOMETIMES MORE OVERT RACISM OF THE SOUTH, AT LEAST IN THE SNIPPETS I CAN SEE (WHICH, BTW, THANKS @theropologist FOR KEEPING US SAFE FROM THE WORST INSTANCES).
I AGREE THAT NO PLACE CAN BE A UTOPIA, BUT WE ALL OWE IT TO OUR ONLINE COMMUNITY TO MAKE THIS PLACE MORE WELCOMING. I MISS MESHA AND WISH WE HAD MADE THIS A PLACE SHE WAS COMFORTABLE STAYING.
