@davidGoldfield@kylewritescode Our instance has a post character limit of 500 characters since we're hosted at @mastohost and you can't change that currently from the default Mastodon limit.
We're hoping Mastodon adds the ability to change that via the admin panel in a future update as we'd like to have 750 - 1,000 character limit.
@cliffwade@davidGoldfield@mastohost We’ve talked about the possibility of self-hosting our instance but we aren’t there just yet. I’m hoping we can get there soon.
@Aaron@kylewritescode@davidGoldfield@mastohost Hugo has stated that if it's a single command he can run, we can email him and he'll run it for us. Unfortunately, changing character limit takes more than just a single command or we could do it that way.
I really hope Mastodon gives us the ability to do it via the admin panel as that would make things super simple for everyone.
