Recently, I've noticed federated threads/comments/votes were lagging behind, and it turns out kbin.earth was being spammed (hundreds in a minute, leading to a couple thousand queued messages after only half an hour) by a Lemmy server with the same exact activity pub message. After blocking the server (feddit.de), federation...

What else is the Fediverse network missing?
An easy way to pull in data from databases like TMDB, and display it like a widget with necessary information visible (instead of a link-type with only a summary of the description).
A way to show what we are currently listening, watching, and reading, everytime we update our, say, BookWyrm or Goodreads profile. Maybe as an info minibar in our profile.
We can also use LibreFM and LastFM for the listening part.
I jak rozumiem takich systemow (a'la wypok) są tu dwa. kbin i lemmy czyli bin.pol.social i szmer.info praktycznie. Jesli chciec to ogarniac to ktory z nich lepszy? Subiektywnie.

Pretty kewl, IMO. Thanks for sharing Elley :) it looks really nice and I created an account for myself. Seamless federation with the others too - very nice :)
Just decided to check kbin (for no reason other than the timeline's a little slow today) and this was the very first post.
Idk, maybe because OS's are complicated pieces of software that take years to develop!? These kinds of stupid questions are part of why I'm not on kbin very much anymore. Not that the software is bad, but the content is increasingly worse quality that it used to be.
Have you even tried #Piefed? Piefed.social is:
"A lemmy/kbin clone written in Python with Flask.
-Clean, simple code that is easy to understand and contribute to. No fancy design patterns or algorithms.
-Easy setup, easy to manage - few dependencies and extra software required.
-AGPL.
-First class moderation tools."
It's actually really quite nice, and I don't hear much noise about it. Go give this project a look at https://piefed.social.
It's a shame that communites surrounding Lemmy, Kbin, et al are closer to Pleroma than Mastodon in terms of tolerance for fascism. I really want that part of the Fediverse to succeed, but it's rapidly becoming as toxic as Reddit.
Still better than Reddit by a long shot, and not so toxic that I'm quitting yet, but I might not stick around if things get worse. Already about to switch instances since the flagship mods are slowly shrinking and transforming into corncobs.
Seems like @squaredcircle lives on in the Mastodon side of the Fediverse? I thought Lemmy didn't federate outside of Lemmy and Kbin instances, but apparently that's changed! Let's see how this implementation goes.
Despite removing comments hours previously, I’m getting complaints from sync users that they’re still seeing the spam bots that have plagued the lemmy today....
As you've all probably experienced and perhaps read, Kbin went through a rough period in the last weeks. Access to the site was down due extended periods of time and functionality (upvotes, boosts, comments) was compromised....
Over 8 months ago now, I started using the Fediverse, messing around with different instances.
I'm glad I've found a pretty good instance of Mastodon.social instead of using Lemmy, Kbin / Mbin or other things like PixelFed.
I'm not saying I'll not use these in the future, but I want a main account for the Fediverse to help bring family and friends in as well as learn the basics & complex parts of the fediverse.
Hello everyone, I've been posting in this community/magazine for a while now, but I won't be able to continue. This magazine is currently not moderated and my request to adopt it has been pending for months. On top of that, kbin dot social has not been federating for almost a week now and shows no sign of fast amelioration,...
For a while now all video threads are basically just opening a screenshot of the video when you expand them instead of opening the video itself. I noticed this both for YouTube and Catbox hosted videos and you now have to first open the thread itself, and then click on the actual link of the title to open the actual page where...
Hi everyone! So far, there have been two ProjMoon communities: here, and one for Limbus only. But the Limbus community is hosted on kbin dot social, which is crumbling more and more (currently the instance has not federated anything in close to a week, and about half of the requests return an error). The Limbus community is thus...

Will it be possible at some point to have private magazines?
Just wondering if local communities could use kbin that way.
Multiple questions regarding Kbin (fedia.io)
Hi, as a new Kbin/Mbin user, I have some questions regarding its use. I hope you can help me out....
PBC DISCORD SERVER IS 🆙
That's right theres a discord server now its the best no more kbin or reddit lets go discord
Federated comment removals? Does Sync handle them?
Despite removing comments hours previously, I’m getting complaints from sync users that they’re still seeing the spam bots that have plagued the lemmy today....
